Changes to Blue Rewards coming in September:
On the bad news side - no more cash rewards, instead an Apple TV+ subscription and something called an “MLS Season Pass” which I’ve never heard of. Same £5/month.
On the good news (for some) side - from September Premier customers will get the same perks without being in Blue Rewards, so no monthly fee to pay any more (unless you choose to do the Avios thing, I’ve opted out of that since BA nerfed the Avios → Nectar conversion).
It’s basically a subscription within Apple TV+ to watch the US football league (Major League Soccer).
It’s a very niche service to offer in the UK, that’s for sure. Presume Barclays aren’t paying anything like the £12.99/month asking price but still.
Especially at £18.99 per month. Maybe Apple have worldwide rights for it, so they just offer it everywhere.
Getting it for £5 per month (plus the other Blue Reward stuff) is a bargain if you like late night live football, though.
