LHV Bank

App · Personal · LHV Bank

Further savings products, apple pay and direct debits on the way. As is Open banking connectivity and payments. Push notifications and in app chat also on the roadmap later this year. Just takes some time to build.

So why not wait until it is ready to use as a current account then? :man_shrugging::roll_eyes:

Why wait if some customers are willing to jump on board with the limited proposition already developed?

This is what building an MVP and rapidly iterating is all about, it’s a very effective way of ensuring value is delivered quickly and consistently.

This is similar to what Chase launched IIRC, and people ditched because Direct Debits and the like were not available, only to be blocked when they tried to return to a viable product.

That said, I used mine for the first time today to test it out.

Virtual debit card created (went lilac for fun  )

£40 transferred in - instant, from Starling

Purchased £40 Costa eGift card (as current Costa promotion turns that into £50 value)

Prompted to approve the transaction in app - seamless

Shown as pending and balance updated to £0.00

When, or whether, I will use it again, I don’t know, but nothing negative thus far in actual useage :+1:

A minute number of very vocal people did this. I would guess for every 1 of those who did that there was 500 who just got it to have a go and then kept the account.

And I’d also guess all those ‘beta’ users now form a small minority of Chase’s customer base.

Yh I’ve been with Chase since day one.

Concur with your practical experience so far. I do though have a significant balance sat there earning interest.

My only negative at the moment, is zero response from CS regarding a change of mobile number. Sent an email last week and I’ve had nothing back from them and my now defunct number still hasn’t been changed.

Most of my money is earning 4.55% or more.

Don’t tend to store much in accounts lower than 4%

I suspect however your money is tied up in notice accounts? Mine is all in easy access, like same day, I can’t hide my money away for months.

Nope. All instant access. But we digress from LHV

Well, I’m not impressed at all with LHV’s customer service. I have attempted twice to inform LHV of a mobile number change. It took them 5 days to respond to my first request, they sent a link which was absolutely useless, I couldn’t change my number. I’ve sent another email and as yet, zero response. Me thinks my relationship with LHV will be the shortest ever in my banking history. If they can’t be bothered to even effect something as simple as a mobile number change or sort their App out so that I can do it myself, then I’m not holding out much hope. I’m getting flashbacks to Algbra with whom I couldn’t even delete payees.

Probably best to avoid these early stage development current accounts if this kind of thing is a frustration.

Like it or not there are quirks like this to work through.

I opened my LHV account in February 2025. As soon as debit cards were available I’ve been transferring money from my main current account with RBS to the LHV account and have been using it for day-to-day spending. I’ve not had a single problem - faster payments in and out are instant and I use the debit card online and Google Pay in person. It feels very solid - more than I would have expected. As soon as direct debits are available I will start moving things across so my pensions/salary are paid into the account.

I’ve not had a single problem using the account either. The problem I had, was that it took over a week for LHV to effect a change of mobile number. It’s been sorted now but 5 days to answer an email and then another 4 days on top to actually carry out my request after doing what they asked me to do, was in my view, poor. Teething problems perhaps, they just need to up their customer service and procedures.

Zopa do, Revolut just pay the interest daily instead.

I withdrew most of my balance from LHV over the length of time it took to change my mobile number. I’ve put some back, but now not keeping as big a balance as I initially deposited but still getting some interest.
