The Developer and Public Betas of iOS 15 have now been announced and released.

Last year, over on FFT, I complied a list of which apps were working and which weren’t, which many people found helpful, so I thought it might be a good idea to curate a list of which banking apps are working under the new release at the current time, which we can update throughout the beta period.

Generally, almost every app other than banking apps works fine - it’s just that banking apps do often block themselves from loading on “unrecognised” releases as a security measure.

Yes, for now only the ”Not working” section actually has apps that are known to not work, the ones under working haven’t all been tested.

I’ll try to update it by the end of the week, but if you or anyone else is running the beta and runs into a problem it would be good to get it updated.

@Mathew can we make it a wiki, please?

Didn’t want to edit without discussing my idea first – if this is to be a wiki, wouldn’t it be best to remove the bit about the list being a placeholder, and replace the :white_check_mark: s with :question: s for the time being and merge the works/doesn’t work list?

So it’d look like:

And so on? People would then know what still needs updating

I’ve alphabetised the list, and split into working and untested, removed the duplicate entry for HSBC.

I’ve added the known working ones reported here and on the Monzo community to the working list.

I’ll work on alphabetising money management apps now for cleanliness.

I’ve been struggling with very poor internet so haven’t even got the beta installed yet, but I had originally thought I would have been able to update it to the correct state within 24 hours so it wouldn’t have mattered.

As it hasn’t worked out like that, it’s much better to have it like you’ve just presented it.

Using other reported sources (Reddit, Macrumors, etc) I am aware of a few more working apps so I’ll update it with them at least a bit later tonight.

I’ve alphabetised everything now! I’ll leave it up to you if you’d rather merge the lists as @anon47616136 suggested or keep them separate. I was going to merge them, but held off for now. Merging would make for easier edits later though, I think. Less shuffling the lists, just replacing an icon.

Probably we should merge them if people prefer?

I managed to get the initial list from the Wayback Machine’s copy of FTT, but it was just intended to be a list of apps to test. We can reorganise it how everyone thinks best.

I think it would be good to have a definitive list ready by the time the public beta is out, so I’m working towards that.

I’ve now unified the list for banking. Added HL under money management apps. Best to keep those two lists separate I think.

Edit: I’ve also gone and unbundled banking group apps into their individual apps, given that although they’re similar, they’re updated frequently, so it’s possible some will work or be updated to work sooner than others.

I’ve decided to split the lists into more categories for better organisation. I’ve tried my best to fit apps into the category I think they belong, but please move any around that are in the wrong place!

I’ve also gone through the current top 200 free finance app and added a bunch of new apps for financial services that folks rely on. This has made the list quite a bit longer as a result, so feel free to clean out any you think are unnecessary, or add any I’ve missed!

I’m running iOS 15 now, so I’m updating the list by checking as many of the question mark apps as I can.

I’ve discovered a few non-functional apps too.
