So long as the switch goes through with 2 active DD mandates you should be golden.
I have got the switch date on 01/12/23 and there are two dds i have just set up on one pound dds.
Are the DDs already on the account you are moving? Some banks take long to set up and these DDs are usually transferred over on day 2 or 3 of the switch.
I don’t know why Barclays do not have the option to let one choose their preferred date of switch.

You “donate” £1 taken as direct debits. Very commonly used by BeermoneyUk subreddit members. I have not yet had to use the site as I have other options where I lose nothing.
I used them and actually cancelled it before the payment came out at the new bank lol - emailed the founder out of courtesy and he didn’t seem to mind. Must be a side hustle
