Chase UK Discussion

I know, I meant to say they don’t fully support cheques because you can only post them or pay them in via cheque imaging (under the limit) - not use the Post Office like you can with cash. That means you have to trust large cheques to the postal system.

They also don’t issue a chequebook, as you say, but I doubt Chase will either.

I would laugh if you had to use a card reader with this account after all the euphoria and hype :joy::rofl:

Let’s just cut back to the Chase…

The app is still not live on iOS.
I wonder if they’ve picked midnight?

Can’t we stay on topic ?

I agree, you’re absolutely right, but seeing as on the whole, banking is boring, sometimes a little humour is need to keep one focussed :+1: I shall refrain from further peurile injection.

Sorry, I wasn’t serious, just couldn’t resist the opportunity to use the wooden spoon after the previous topic policing :joy:

Yep. It’s fascinating watching the three current fintech forums preparing for launch.

Monzo has gone for polls
9to5fs has gone for ……. GIFs….

This thread is interesting in its spread.

Preparedness for being underwhelmed to a quick run around features (Pots et al). There are one or two posts worthy of hanging in the gallery (you know who you are).

Let’s prepare for the whistle tomorrow….

Agreed!

At the risk of going off topic here, it’s times like this that I think it’s great that we have three different forums. As someone who dips in to all of them, and occasionally contributes too, I really like how you sometimes get a different angle from each one.

I will check at midnight to see if the app goes live, but I’m also thinking at this point that it will probably just pop up tomorrow at whatever time they have chosen for their launch.

Not long to wait now!

Clearly gifs are best!

Three FinTech forums? I must investigate 9to5fs - I’ll no doubt see some familiar faces

Website and waitlist are live

Nice comms - and a promising offering.

And in the email - an interesting reference:

And by choosing to bank with Chase, you’ll soon get the chance to help UK communities too. We’ll share more details about that in the coming weeks.

However:
No Direct Debits on launch
No simple CASS process (paper form)

App is now available:

Interesting that it’s blocked from installing on iPads and M1 Macs, and also requires iOS 14.1 (a relatively high minimum requirement).

Looks like a solid offering, can’t wait to sign up.

Disappointing. Not a full bank account - no direct debits, no CASS, no mention of transaction notifications.

Think I’ll give it a miss for now.
