Chase UK Discussion

They use the Mastercard rate, as they advised.

At least that’s my experience.

You can check the rate within the Chase app. Tap on your card, then Manage card, then Currency converter.

The app warns the value of a transaction may change between authorisation and final settlement.

This sounds weird. I have checked my December transactions made on weekends abroad, they have same rate.

I bought something in euros yesterday and the rate I got was £1 = EUR 1.1575

Thank you for checking yours and confirming. In that case I might try asking Chase again on the chat if they can investigate why the rate on purchases made minutes apart is different.

They sent me this email 6 months later, I had not yet paid attention.

What is wrong with Chase iOS app?

Anyone had any issues with Chase notifications?

In London on Wednesday I got some notifications for transactions I hadn’t made that never hit my account (presumably weren’t for my account).

I just raised it with Chase. Wish I got some screenshots

Haven’t seen any like that.

No problems here, working as normal

No all good for me.

Extremely odd. I had one in USD and another one, but I was getting sandwiched into an elevator on the Elizabeth Line to Bond Street because the escalator down broke and no one changed the direction of the other one.

Guess I’ll just have to hope it was a glitch then

Interesting. I wonder if this indicates there’s some integration with Chase US in the works? Or just you getting mixed up with someone on holiday there?

I’d probably go with First Direct or something like Club Lloyds

I wouldn’t worry too much about Metro less than 85k/170k - if anything happens, the accounts would be taken over by another provider or repaid by the FSCS.

The good thing is since the latest update it now keeps the reference and has an edit if you want to change it on payments.

I have been editing for some good time, longer than 6 months.

I am on iOS too. May be it has changed the way it is done now, I will check it out. I used to do it with transfers to Ford Money.
Edit. I have seen it, it is now more prominent with the word edit visible. This was not the case before

It never used to retain my credit card reference it does
Now. Maybe they tweaked it like you said.

I think they did. The one for Ford money was still editable unlike with other banks that don’t allow editing reference for business accounts
