Not worth it in any case, the same discount at Nero can be had by purchasing a £2 travel insurance policy from Compare the Meerkat. Small beer.
It’s the same with all streaming services; it really depends on your preferences. Someone will take this opportunity into consideration.
Thanks again for flagging this up.
I raised a complaint last week and shortly after had a very dissatisfactory call from someone on Thursday, who refused to acknowledge the 1st April date until I pointed her to the PR, and then tried to claim that they can say what they like in PRs…
I asked her to issue me with a deadlock letter since we clearly were not going to agree, then got a response from a much nicer representative today offering £40.
Would have settled for a tenner, but would definitely encourage anyone else who held off on selecting in March to get Disney+ in April to complain.
According to a post on MSE, Disney+ will pro-rata refund card payments if you join via Club Lloyds @Breezy
6.25% interest in a savings account capped at £90pa. So, effectively, capped at £1,450. Eye catching but ultimately useless unless you’re offsetting it against your fees
It’s not useless, it’s very useful for monthly savings; just not useful for moving existing savings unless you drip feed.
And your maths is wrong too, if you open the account on the 1st of a month, deposit £400 and then deposit £400 on the following 11 first days of the month you’ll get £161 in interest upon maturity.
The blurb says capped at £90 per annum. And a £4800 limit for this is not exactly world beating.
No it doesn’t?
Which regular savings account has a higher allowance at this interest rate please? The only product which comes close in overall generosity is the First Direct 7% saver, but even that is limited to £350pm.
“not exactly world beating” is some distance from “useless”
There’s no such amount mentioned on the Lloyds website. You’ve made it up.
It’s a £300 pm limit with First Direct. The Club Lloyds Monthly Saver is a very generous interest rate for £400 pm.
Club Lloyds customers can also earn up to £90 credit interest per year, alongside accessing exclusive offers on other products, including the Club Lloyds Monthly Saver which pays 6.25% interest, mortgage cashback and preferential exchange rates on travel money. Disney+ joins Club Lloyds lifestyle benefits - Lloyds Banking Group plc
That £90 is the credit interest on the Club Lloyds account itself. 1.5% on the first £3999.99 (making £60) then 3.0% on the next £1000, (another £30). It has nothing to do with the Club Lloyds Monthly Saver.
I am having trouble activating my Disney+ benefit. When I use details of an old account with a cancelled subscription that expired I meet this screen after following the steps from Lloyds.
If I try using a new email address, I am asked to enter card details.
Do I have to enter my card details for this offer? Won’t I be charged?
Edit: It seems the content blockers in Safari were the issue. I have used chrome and it went through successfully
Good to know, as I’ve just selected Disney+ as my benefit.
Same. Mine starts 18 October, so have the mid-subscription crossover to do shortly after that.
Shall then see if it’s as seamless as Disney Support suggested it would be
From today, new customers are only being offered the free/£4.99 tier. Worse still, there’s no ability to pay the difference and upgrade yourself.
Very disappointing, I probably won’t renew as it stands.
Darn. I did it a day late
Phew, got mine in mid-October.
It does show in my overview within Disney though as a Monthly Subscription, so hope they don’t try moving the goalposts now else is not worth it.
Nah, you’re good according to the FAQ’s above:
What happens to my Disney+ lifestyle benefit when I am at renewal for the next year if I selected before 1st November?
If you would like to keep Disney+ for the following year, you can leave your lifestyle benefit to roll over. At this point, your Disney+ lifestyle benefit will roll over to the following year on the Disney+ Standard With Ads plan, which is the offering available for Lloyds Bank Club customers from 1st November 2023.
Those FAQs seem to have been done in a hurry too. What’s “Lloyds Bank Club”?!
Yeah, the £8 subscription for £3 was worth it, £5 one for £3 not so much. (Assuming that you don’t bother with the £2k funding)
Be silly to spend £3 when you can just ping pong some money in and out, tho.
