Yeah but they also pay interchange fees, too
I wonder if they can charge the higher interchange fee in the US and put the other transaction through in Europe and pay lower interchange fees? However, their lack of Amex support will be a bigger factor in the US.

They won’t be able to exist in the US without a local license & entity, if they funnel it back to Europe I shan’t imagine each state’s regulator being happy with that
Edit: I do think the US was the place to launch Curve if anywhere though, card widely accepted , contactless hit and miss
