Job Scam - BEWARE

Job scams have unfortunately become very common these days. It often starts with someone pretending to be a well-known HR recruiter. They’ll connect you with a “mentor” and ask you to complete various tasks. The scam begins when you’re encouraged to advance to a higher level to “generate more profits,” requiring you to pay increasingly larger amounts to continue.

Victims can lose anywhere from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of GBP. Payments are often requested in cryptocurrency such as BTC, ETH, TRON, BNB, or even Apple Gift Cards.

Stay away from such scams and remember: when you’re looking for a job, you are the one who should be getting paid.

Always request a video call—most scammers will refuse.

I don’t think this is particularly good advice. Plenty of examples on YouTube of scambaiters either being pestered for video calls or even doing them.

You are right. some scammers will agree for a video call.
The main point is to avoid crypto currency payments or any payments to do a job.

Have you been a victim yourself? Just wondering why you are joining a forum to post information that is readily available elsewhere.

I believe it’s important to grow the awareness about online scams, maybe you know but even if 1 person will read it and it will prevent from him getting scammed it’s enough for me
