LHV Bank

Each to his own. Frills it certainly doesn’t have. Random use of screen space and large fonts mixed with small ones.

Anyway. It works, but it certainly won’t play a significant part in my financial landscape. (Wordsworth, I think ).

I have done the same. Moved energy DD and funds across to LHV.

Makes sense.

Chase empty now. Just what I owe on their CC, so a negative really

4% is not a treasure chest, Graham

Most of mine are in 5% Cahoot Sunny Day Saver or 4.40% Simple Saver

4% well down the list of my savings rates atm

LHV are clearly in the verified database of Octopus Energy as they changed it this morning with no apparent issues.

Just need to see it in my LHV app now.

Yes, I’ve got the Cahoots Saver. Nice.

Octopus Energy now showing within Direct Debits section of LHV app.

Smooth process so far. Let’s see if it pays out correctly in a couple of weeks :folded_hands:

I am making progress through my direct debits and so far I haven’t had any rejected. After each direct debit is taken on my old account I’m switching it to LHV - so those problematic debits with companies who haven’t yet updated their validation database have few weeks to go before I need to change them. Hopefully they’ll get their acts together by then.

UPDATE 18/11/25: I’ve given up and moved everything back to the Royal Bank of Scotland. A few companies would not accept my LHV Bank details, then my LHV app locked me out and made me go through the registration process again. This has happened a few times before and it has unnerved me. The only way to contact LHV is by email, and they may or may not reply after a few hours - where with RBS I can call the over-60s telephone number and I’m connected within a minute or so. I’m not sure whether 4% interest on the money in my current account would actually amount to much. I get a net reward of £3 each month with RBS.

I was interested to see that walking down Upper Street, Islington London tonight all the bus shelters were advertising LHV Bank with the tagline of a current account with 4% interest. They are obviously looking to grow their business rather rapidly…

Ok, so my Octopus Energy DD did not leave my account today as expected, so let’s see what happens now :person_shrugging:

One of the direct debits I thought I had successfully set up on my LHV account didn’t work and I got a letter in the post complaining that I had given them incorrect bank details.

It’s all too much hassle. I’m somewhat relieved I did an about turn and reverted to my Royal bank of Scotland account.

LHV needs to sort out its customer services - sending an email and waiting several hours when you have a problem just isn’t acceptable in this day and age.

An update.

DD had still not left my bank account by this morning, so rang Octopus Energy to see if the DD was still live.

On Tuesday, the DD was showing on their system as pending, and today that payment is showing as “cancelled”, despite DD also shown as still active at both LHV and Octopus!!

Settled this month’s statement via card payment through the app, to ensure no red mark on my credit file, and now just wait to see if DD takes around Xmas eve.

If it fails again, then I’ll change source account to a more reliable bank account.

I set up a DD with PayPal but the code I was supposed to receive never materialised. I’ve now binned it off so I won’t be bothering with any DD’s with LHV.

just tried to transfer some money from my Monzo account, using the same details as I used previously.

Apparently my LHV account doesn’t exist

Hmm. Problems galore - and you can’t even speak to them. Pretty much no support at all.

Has anyone requested a call back via email? does this also take a week?

Didn’t even know this was an option…

I’ve had to email LHV twice and both times it took a week to respond to me!

I do applaud the tenacity of everyone here. Pity LHV don’t appreciate that.

I suspect LHV ‘customer services’ are the proverbial ‘2 men and a dog’. Fineco UK certainly was.

If so, it’s likely one’s off sick.
