I think this has been mentioned before somewhere but it seems with the new banks it takes longer for card payments to go through with card machines.
Does anyone know why this is?

What do you mean by “go through”? I get a notification as soon as I use a card machine with both Monzo and NatWest.
I mean on the card machine itself for example. The length of time it takes to be approved. I might just be imagining it but even just trying this myself my Lloyds card seems to be quicker than Starling.
Okay, no, pretty much instantaneous for me.
Most of the new banks use online only debit cards as they only ID check their applicants.
It’s not a massive difference as standard debit cards are online most of the time but not always.
