Question about curve card suddenly starting to charge foreign card fee. They didn't charge in the first month.

I have a Bank of China debit card which has pounds in it. I signed up for a curve card(in the UK) and linked my BOC card to it. In the first months I was paying pounds from BOC card via Curve without any extra fee(in the UK)
Suddenly after the 1st month, they start to charge around 2% of every transaction(called international card fee) and I’m confused. Is there a one month trial or something?

And also I just payed 3500 pounds so was charged 100 pounds for the “international card fee”. I want to take my money back and figure out another way of paying, is it possible? Curve doesn’t seem to have a customer service phone line, and they reply too slowly on the app.

What currency did you set your BoC card to in the Curve card? If you had set the current to GBP, Curve wouldn’t charge you the fee but your issuer (BoC) would charge you the Fx fee if any.
Curve doesn’t know the balances you hold on your BoC so if you wanted your BoC to be charged in GBP you should have changed the currency to GBP in Curve.
The only way to reverse these fees is using GBiT to another card with a GBP currency set in Curve.
They also have limits for free fx transactions as per their fup depending on your subscription tier, you could have tripped that.
