Maybe it’s just @anon46977588 sowing the seeds of doubt, or maybe the watch strap is already starting to stretch out, I don’t know yet. I just know I’ve been paying a lot more attention today to how much the watch moves on my wrist
That’s the point I got to.
I wasn’t sure if the novelty of the new band was covering up for how annoying it was to start with and then when that wore off, it started to annoy me.
Estimated delivery of my smaller ones is on Monday, so I’ll see how I get on with those. No doubt they’ll be too small!
I feel like this why I couldn’t deal with getting a cheap strap from god knows where, the amount an Apple Watch costs means I really want to know it’s secure on my wrist, it’s odd to me to spend hundreds on the watch but flake on the bit that keeps it on your wrist
I used to have no issue paying for £50 watch straps but these days I don’t find them so important to spend 20% of the Watch cost on an accessory. My experience with knockoff accessories so far has been satisfactory enough so I thought why not! In fact, only AliExpress supply half-decent MagSafe car chargers. Apple and MFi manufacturers have completely failed the market so far
I went with Small to being with and it fit perfectly at first. I’m not sure if it’s changed or if I’m paying more attention to it now but I definitely feel like it might be sliding around a bit more now. I would order an XS but I think if I did, I’d end up with my wrist turning blue for the first day or so!
The quality of the strap is fine, it isn’t going to come off. It’s just I have wrists that could be used as pipe cleaners so it wobbles a bit. It’s tough to get something that fits snugly but not too tight, without a very accurate measure.
I think laughing at how long it took for @anon47616136’s to arrive has come back to bite me. It’s been on a plane for 5 days
They just turned up!
Much better fit!
I can’t believe that I’m the only one receiving them so late. You got two orders, one after another, in just a week more than it took me to get one!
I’ll be curious to see if yours stretches out slightly in the next few days – if it remains a good fit, I might order some XS
It seems that size/fit is absolutely luck of the draw. I ordered three Small bands from the other seller and here they are, side by side:
None of them were worn
On this basis I’m inclined to search for a similar look but with a sensible clasp. Otherwise the whole fit thing becomes, well, a thing.
And don’t bother with this type
Is there any tendency for the loop to loosen ?
The loop sports band i highlighted has a Velcro strap so keeps it stick together. My apple strap I amusing at the moment is this but a different colour.
@anon46977588 how are you getting on with your new straps? I just washed mine (tend to do it every two weeks at least) and they stretched out more. Not even a big wash, just a quick rinse under lukewarm water. Now even the ones that were a tight fit are a bit loose. Thinking of going for extra small then washing them once
Or maybe a different strap?
I think it’s looser, but not by a lot and not by enough that it’s annoying me yet.
I leave mine on in the shower so it’s had a daily wash
Just remember that Apple says exposure to soaps, shampoos and body washes etc. can affect the waterproofing on an Apple Watch.
Gave it a super hot wash and dried on the radiator in hopes that heat shrinks it. So loose that it no longer detects a pulse
That was a great purchase, wasn’t it? Oh well, no fancy colourful watch straps for me for now…
At least you didn’t pay £100 for it!
I’ve never had an issue washing my Apple straps, they seem to take anything and tend not to stretch much if at all. The cheap ones from Amazon/eBay is a different story, always feel so wasteful repeatedly buying new ones but it is cheaper soo
