They lost me when they deleted the free tier. I’ve only not closed it down due to the fact there will be no charges until my existing card expires in a couple of years time. But I am gradually running down the Euros in it, and when I’ve done that, I will close the account. I now have a different non-UK IBAN, which was the sole reason I had it in the first place. They certainly didn’t win any awards for customer service or competency.

My physical cards are expiring soon on Easy Travel. Turns out you can’t order physical cards anymore on the legacy free plans. More confused than ever why bunq doesn’t just close my account.

So you can still have a free travel card, virtual only, as long as you want it - but it shows to retailers as a Mastercard credit rather than debit, despite operating to all intents and purposes as a debit card?
If that’s the case, why would they close your account?
Because it’s pointless providing it. I don’t use it. They keep pushing paid plans, but I’m not interested (pointless for anyone in the UK at the moment).
