Thank you all for your kindness, although I didn’t intend of course to make the news about myself.
I think @WillPS put it well. An unexpectedly strong feeling of sadness, mixed with the feeling of collective emotion, at the Queen’s death. The fact a family death has almost immediately followed it, for me, just sharpens the feeling further.
