Ulster ufirstgold Bank Account packaged account

I was browsing and came across this account. It would be beneficial to many who don’t need the breakdown cover offered by Nationwide and lloyds and the fee bvecomes signficantly lower.

I will give it a go when I renew my car insurance and add the breakdown cover there then downgrade to Club Lloyds.

World wide family travel insurance at just £120 a year looks a good deal.

Good shout. I currently pay £12.50/month for Virgin Money Club M but I don’t actually need the Green Flag element as I’ve paid for a superior policy.

No non-mobile gadget cover tho :frowning: (but Aviva mobile cover rather than Assurant which may or may not be any better).

I saw this too and was put off by Green Flag.

I’ve never had a problem with Green Flag, tbf.

Not so fussed about the cover provider, but we holiday in the UK around 10 weeks a year (in an ageing car) so Onward Travel is pretty important for us.

If one doesn’t need worldwide travel insurance and only needs UK/European travel insurance and mobile phone cover, then the Reward Silver from Royal Bank of Scotland (of which Ulster Bank is part of the same NatWest group) might be just as good an option for a tenner a month.

I’m personally all in with the Nationwide packaged account. Yes, it costs £18 a month, but we need the worldwide travel cover and the AA breakdown cover has so far been useful for a blow out on the motorway. Plus me and the other half both have an iPhone, so the gadget cover is there if we need it.

I personally haven’t used them before, people known to me have but all of them were on the unlucky side.

In the last 6 years I have used RAC and AA once each, attended to me in less than an hour. Last time was 2022.

This is a must for me as we do long hauls about twice a year.

I claimed on the phone twice while I was with Nationwide.
