Who is your main bank?

hmmm. Does anyone know if it’s still true you can open additional accounts with other branches later?

My Nationwide credit card is silver, the debit card blue.

What colour are your’s then?

Cancel. Should have continued reading the thread first :man_facepalming:

That one is no longer available to new customers (since 1-2 years ago)

Genuinely didn’t know that.

Did it go with cashback then?

Before that, I didn’t the chance to set up digital banking until after the account was open, I think?

They withdrew it to new customers in Nov 2019.

I don’t know if you can now, in the past (when I did it) it seemed to be a bit hit and miss, with the best results applying when not logged in to internet banking. I got a Drummonds account that way.

My “allocated branch” is Child & Co, I think when I opened the RBS digital regular saver about a year ago it asked me if I wanted a different branch or my usual one? I selected usual, if I remember right. That time I obviously was logged in to internet banking.

So I think the option existed at least up to a year ago.

Ah, okay thanks!

I’ve gone ahead and signed up on MSE to ask a user who very recently applied for one what the process was like for them!

Hopefully hear back from them!

@anon85728687 may also have to link to the “old form” which seemed to present the option most of the time.

It does seem like some of the process has changed, as I don’t remember any credit file questions or need to upload proof of ID - just a credit check to check my identity, I think. Of course the exact process can differ between people depending on credit file, etc, so it’s hard to tell.

Is it still impossible to get an overdraft facility on a Starling joint?

Yes, as far as I am aware.
