As it’s Saturday….. a heads-up: YouTube subscriptions are cheaper on their website

Yeah good point, however I’ve not been earning more that about £210 in PLU each year so unless it appreciated loads can’t see any CGT implications, my standard investments are in ISA’s

Also, I tried the Indian YT before and the payment failed due to it not being a native card, hence the ICICI discussion above. Have you found that you can use a Revolut card?

It would be good. I’m not sure on the exact specifics of changes going on, I was considering getting a Cynergy account (who offer EUR accounts) alongside my Fineco to cover all bases for cash withdrawals in the Eurozone. That said, Fineco should be fine on its own so may not bother.

Fine, though beware the onboarding is (was) tortuous…:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

There’s also Bankera which is very easy to open. EMI based in Lithuania. Almost instant transfers to/from Wise and Revolut.

Just had a look - somewhat odd that they charge 1% for withdrawals in Lithuania itself - wouldn’t have been as good as Fineco in the country when I was there the other month

A good selling point would be a better app/onboarding experience though. Fineco is ok ish once set up but Cynergy you’d need two devices to manage your account.

After much faffing back in the day I was able, with CS assistance, to use the “Authenticator app” on the phone only. It’s so contrived and a rare breed indeed, but it was a must-do given the ISA rates have consistently offered.

I think we’re way off topic now…

I think you’re right. A subject well-aired. :relieved::smirk:

I’ve noticed this topic was fully resolved ( to my thorough satisfaction ) 22 days ago.

Job done.

My YouTube premium sub via Argentina got cancelled last week. I tried signing up again using a Ghana VPN but not had any luck. I went in incognito mode and changed all the settings and billing address to a Ghana location, YouTube is also showing up as Ghana with a little gh in the corner and also showing the Ghana ip. But whenever I try to renew it’s still reverting to £12.99 a month?

Any ideas on a workaround, what if I had genuinely moved to Ghana what would happen in that scenario?? Thanks!

I’m on Ukraine still, have a feeling that they’ll probably cancel it considering u connect from literally every country BUT Ukraine (and I’m using a British card).

Did Google give you the specific reason that it’s because of Argentina sub?

still have my Argentine subscription for the moment

Worked out if you try to change details they’ve patched it, but it should continue until you need to update details.

Downside: my card expires soon

Luckily my card doesn’t expire till 2027

I’m hoping Google will use my credit card on file
