Have you checked the Rewards page in-app?
Are they definitely Savings Accounts?
Do they show an interest rate underneath them?
I have seen many posts from Chase customers who added the wrong account type when trying to open savings accounts.
Just a thought.
Edit:
That said, Chase clearly separate the savings accounts in their own tab now, so you would notice immediately if wrong type.
Strange you not had even a few pence on 1 March though.
As stated previously, interest is credited on 1st of every month.
I wonder if it’s after the first complete month…![]()
Nope.
Just checked my statments from 2022. Interest of 24p showing on statement the very next month after opening.
I can vouch for that.
I have a Nationwide Select and a BA Amex credit card, both always paid off in full every month.
I applied for the Barclaycard Avios (in the hope of boosting my points) but was rejected. ![]()
Yet, while I was in the process of booking our summer holiday (with the Amex) I came close to my credit limit.
30 seconds on their website and I increased the credit limit by 40% instantly.
Same here. 6 years plus of clearing all of my accounts every month in full, same address for 20-odd years - refused a Capital One Card and a Zopa card recently. Mystified. My partner has the former card, so it’s not even an “association” thing.
They are definitely savings accounts, and have the % interest stated under them.
Will see what happens after the 1st April 2023.
Update on tweeters
Hi. We will start reporting to Transunion in April and you will see Chase on Transunion in May.
We are working on ways to let you deposit cash and on budgeting and money management tools but don’t have a timescale.
CASS will be here soon
“We are working on ways to let you deposit cash”
I assume PayPoint and/or the Post Office for a fee. I’ve not deposited cash in a bank for ages. I USED to deposit cash (and cheques) in an envelope in an ATM, but I’ve not seen one of those for ages. And, of course, Chase don’t have any ATMs to do so even if we could.
Actual bank branches tend to have ATMs with pay in, either an envelope or more recent ones just have a slot and will instantly deposit (only for their own accounts tho, obviously).
I think they’d be alone in charging for Post Office pay ins if they did, kind of doubt the Post Office would do it since they boast about free banking etc.
Starling give you an allowance, then charge a fee:
Yes, you can deposit cash into your Starling account at any Post Office branch. If you have a Personal or Joint Current Account, you can deposit £1,000 per calendar year free of charge.
From 12:45am to 6am on Tuesday morning, we’ll be doing some work to our systems.
It means that you won’t be able to do most things in the app. Payments in and out will be held until the work is finished.
Your balance won’t update while the work is ongoing. You won’t be able to access your card details. You won’t be able to make online card payments when security checks are required either.
Regular payments like Direct Debits, standing orders and payments in will be made when the work is finished.
You can still use your card in shops, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can still withdraw cash. you might get two notifications about any purchases.
Helpful to get that detail. I just wonder, though, why the message doesn’t include the one-line “sorry for the inconvenience “.
It doesn’t change anything - it’s just a tad odd.
Not showing in app that the current account now gets 1% interest
I get this now sometimes, even without a drop in service.
R-
Yes. It’d be nice to see the benefits more clearly laid out in-app.
I wonder if the 1% CA interest hasn’t commenced yet?
Even so……
But I’ll own up to placing increasing reliance in them. They’re certainly trying.
No good for those who need to pay for something online in an emergency. What about people on smart prepay that are awake at that time and need to ping a few quid on the meters online ![]()
I suppose the notice given would work for most (assuming they access the app frequently).
Your point also adds weight to the value of having an alternative.
Its planned work, with ample notice displayed prominently to users. You have notice, plan for it.
Virtue signalling doesn’t really help or work in that context. Prepyament meters won’t cut you off overnight. For starters they come bundled with emergency credit so will continue to operate after you’ve run out for a while to give you time to top up. And if you deplete that between 4pm and 11am the following day (the window can vary slightly by supplier), it still won’t cut off, so you have plenty of time to top up both before and after the maintenance window.
