My RBS 23 months expires on the issue of the May 16th statement, so I will pay the April 2025 statement DD in FULL to clear prior to May’s being created.

I’ve been assured that the newest iOS app is laden with shiny new improvements.
To save me raking through it, can someone indicate what they are. Blowed if I can see any……
To be fair, I’ve struggled to find any so called ‘improvements’ over the last 3 or so updates. You’re right though, no actual indication of what the improvements are. Still waiting for dark mode, which for some reason, Chase just cannot seem to be bothered to offer. There’s nowt like having your bleeding retinas vapourised when your’re attempting to look at your Chase app at 02.15 in the morning.
Also, joint accounts. Chase really do need to get a move on with this. My Wife and I can’t be the only couple out there that would find a joint account with Chase extremely beneficial. Yes, we have the Nationwide FlexPlus account, but in all honesty, the actual Nationwide banking app, is just a bit crap in my worthless opinion. No spend notifications? What the blazes is that all about? Sorry, now gone off topic with Nationwide. I’ve slapped my own face as punishment.
Nationwide haven’t added any substantial functionality to their app in years; I wouldn’t expect them to do it anytime soon with them wasting available funds on buying VM and paying out the Fairer share.
I never understood how they were going to make a profit by throwing money at people.
Really disappointing, basically the end of cashback. Very limited spend categories and UK GBP spend only.
Between this and the uncompetitive savings rate, they’re no better than any other bank.
Not really that disappointed here - it’s a loss leader so was always a case of when.
I mainly use it for cheap US ATM access as it’s virtually unbeatable even compared to Starling. This perk isn’t part of this change.
Ah well, it was nice whilst it lasted.
I will use Chase a lot less however after it ends. Perhaps it’s worth getting that Santander cashback credit card now.
Getting interest, albeit reduced, on the DD account is still attractive to me. The one thing that I got cashback on isn’t in the new list. Back to 0.25% on Virgin I think, which has the advantage that it pays on things like student fees which Chase never did.
This is untrue. They’re definitely behind but stuff is being added at a reasonable pace - most notably the ability to register biometrics and skip the card reader step when making payments.
To be clear this isn’t groundbreaking stuff but it is (an example of) substantial stuff that has been added recently, nonetheless.
They were buying market share. Presumably that phase is over, for the time being at least.
Chase also removed this, around mid-2024, they previously paid 1% Interest on the Current Account, it’s now 0.
Still 3% on the savings account that I pay my DDs from.
All my mid-month DDs are paid from a Chase Savings account. Not just for the minimal interest, but to separate “spent” funds from my disposable income.
All my main DDs, paid on 1st of the month, are still from my main current account.
I’ve just applied for the Monzo credit card as they sent me an offer for 1% cashback on all purchases worldwide (no foreign currency fees) until £100 has been received in cashback.
I wasn’t aware that Monzo did a credit card. Or do you mean Flex.
Yes, it’ll be Flex. Not exactly a credit card but near as damn it. As much of a credit card as Tymit was
Is anyone else having their payments delayed with chase today? I’ve tried to send money from my chase account to my Monzo account but it hasn’t gone through and it’s been a few hours. I asked in the support chat and they gave a copy paste generic answer that there are no issues with their system and payments can take up to 24 hours…
but they’ve always been instant, so this does seem unusual.
Whenever this happened to me it was because Chase were holding it for security checks. If you look at the payment in the app does it say anything like that?
