Chase UK Discussion

Yeah, I added it first to my iPhone via the Chase app, then tried adding it from the Watch app on the iPhone, which didn’t work.

It worked when i tried adding it to the watch from the Chase app.

OK - so not as bad as I thought, but still an iPad and Mac problem.

Someone should call them overnight to see if they get a Scottish accent or if the call connects to the Philippines

I’m having a slight wee in my pants moment reading one of the latest posts on the ‘M’ forum. The new Chase account clearly isn’t impressing some folks.

Sounds like it’s in alpha, which means it’s very nearly ready.

Until they have an open banking API, I think mine will be for petrol only. Otherwise, it’s a faff to track my spending. It would have been very slick to have an API out of the door, but nobody seems to do that.

I’m almost at the 20 account limit. They really need a custom display order!

I give up with some people on that thread… at the end of the day due some research and its only a bank account…

You can’t sign in on two phones though, for those that use iOS and Android.

What is their obsession with these bloody pots???

So would you recommend waiting for your new phone before installing and signing into the app?

There, corrected that for you

Are you keeping the phone number?

You can sign in on your new phone but it seems to log you out of your other phone.

I don’t get it. It delivered exactly what was promised, nothing more, nothing less. It’s a nice UI/UX from a big name in banking. Admittedly the more I look at it the more it feels like they were heavily inspired by Monzo, but still. It’s early days

Yes I will be keeping my phone number - expecting a new phone on Friday and wasn’t sure whether to wait until that arrives to sign up. I haven’t received my code yet but I expect I will receive it soon as I applied early on Tuesday.

Okay that should be okay then.

Interesting! I actually preferred it with the MasterCard logo on the back, so won’t complain! That was my favourite of the designs we’ve seen in marketing and glimpses from the test users on social media. 4 different ones in total I think, if not more. Very bizarre they didn’t have one set in stone for all the marketing and product images!

Although, perhaps some it comes down to the fact the design will be slightly different in app to still show the mastercard logo? But then again, the marketing pictures, and their advert show people using a physical card with the MasterCard on the front so who knows! We’ll see when it arrives! But the one the inside has matches Apple Pay and the App version, so would make more sense to go with that!

I wouldn’t say my friends are banking enthusiasts by any means. They just like a pleasant app with a decent offer for using it. These are people who joined starling for the interest and modern app.

Who knows what will happen after that year! I suspect they’ll just leave for something better when it stops benefitting them!

Feedback so far seems to be that they prefer the app to Starling’s and are happy with the cash back, as they’ve already earned more in cash back today than in interest from Starling since they joined.
Another is waiting for the round ups saver before signing up. They’re using roundups in Starling to save for a Tesla, so or swapping purely for that interest. Question is whether there will be a 10x accelerator though, which is their favourite thing about Starlinf Bank.

Someone should have told N26!

Same here. They’re trying to solve the same problem I think. Just in a different. And I think, a simpler, more elegant way. It’s pots done right still, just doesn’t have the virtual cards stuff.

Despite registering the morning they launched I still haven’t received my invite code (I must be very unlucky with the batches they’re releasing, since some who signed up just this afternoon are already in! :frowning:), so perhaps someone could answer this for me: is Chase currently compatible with confirmation of payee, both when sending money to Chase from another bank and when transferring out of a Chase account?

Tested it especially for you!

That would be a No.

Neither Lloyds & BoS were happy with Chase as a payee. But in both cases the payments went through.
