Chase UK Discussion

Quite right. I like their style but they need to get over the line with DDs.

I’m surprised it’s taking them so long. I’m having to pay Direct Debits from an account I’d happily switch them over from currently

I had expected direct debits to have launched before now, so it is disappointing that they’ve not done so even now. My own (and probably flawed) rationale behind Chase launching while not properly ready was down to them including Apple Pay, and we all know Apple set the agenda there, and only launch on a Tuesday. So 22nd September it was.

That said I only have 2 DDs that must be paid by DD, others I’ve rejigged to standing order, faster payments, or card payment (so tend to get a little cash back on those). The 2 mandatory DDs are still sat with Starling.

Same for me, two personal bills I must pay by DD currently sat with another account. I’m not really using that account for spending anymore.

That’s good to know - do you think that’s after the latest app update?
Shame about payments in, but I will try a card payment and see what happens

Yeah only noticed them after the last update

Fantastic, just bought something from Amazon and got an alert - we are slowly getting there.
Now for incoming payments alerts and DD’s

As soon as DD’s are sorted this will be my main account.

Has anyone used Curve go back in time with Chase yet?

I’m considering whether you can do things like:

Pay £200 for a credit card using another card then move it to Chase (would cashback apply if it didn’t recognise it as straight forward card payment?)

Use Chase to obtain the cashback, once settled move to another account that I’m more acquainted to making payments from? (For example somewhere I add things straight into a group bill from my transactions list)

Text reference is there I can confirm (ios)

Yeah it works.

When refunds went through, as went from Barclaycard to Chase, Barclaycard took back the cashback.

Chase would likely do the same

Is there any talks on when theres going to be Direct Debit support?

Curve back in time works perfectly with Chase. I have moved transactions in both directions. Yes cashback will be tracked as long as the merchant qualifies.

I’d heard that when you get a refund with Chase, the cashback isn’t reversed?

Surely you could have transferred it out and spent it already

Ah so it would still be displayed as ‘American Express’ for instance

When I have had refunds the cash back has been reversed

I mean it does make sense…I must have been mistaken

Does it come out of your cash balance if you have £0 in rewards?

My experience has been the opposite!

Perhaps it’s dependant if the cash back is still pending or not?

£10 at the shop

10p cashback, withdrawn and spent on a 10p sweet

Go back in time used 15 days later 🤷

Guessing it would become negative like what happened to my Quidco balance when I had a refund
