First impression is exactly that - inviting and rather elegant. Can’t think of any UK equivalent.

Metro?
Been 3 years since I was inside one, but was a relaxed lounge experience on that occasion.

Ok. Must admit I’ve never seen a Metro branch so hadn’t figured on them.

Me neither. According to their own branch locator, there’s not a single branch anywhere in the South West, nearest being either Southampton, firmly central South, Bristol, Swindon or Bath (barely in the South West!), which may as well be located in Edinburgh as far as I’m concerned 
It clearly shows that Metro Bank believes there is no market in the South West for a branch otherwise I suspect they would have installed one in each of the 4 cities down here, Truro, Plymouth, Salisbury or Exeter. I don’t feel as though I’m missing out.

I don’t think you are. No open banking API, I’ve witnessed customers believing their account allows DD’s but in fact it doesn’t.
First I visited was Solihull, second was Birmingham City Centre.
I got back from NYC yesterday and have to say I thought exactly the same! They look like such inviting spaces for customers.

Metro banks i have been in Reading and Basingstoke have sort the change. They have dog foid bowls and can print off debit cards. They are ooen on Sundays too and till 8pm weekdays.

Just received and email from Chase saying that they are changing the Terms and Conditions due to the addition of direct debits.

Really looking forward to seeing where chase go. I did try them when they started but there were too many things missing (I know, I know)
Given the releases since launch hopefully within the next six months we’re going to have a “challenger” bank that matches the usual M/S at their start
