This is a Vodafone issue has happened to me with many different banks

Welcome to the community. What’s the Vodafone connection please?

Issue with Chase direct debit

Was a post further about about Vodafone changing DDs online. Seemed to have lost the quote

Except on Twitter? :thinking::joy:

You noticed? :rofl::joy:

I’ve never had a spat on there before, me not exactly being part of the Twitterati.

I’ve deleted my exchange with the banking IT professional. He’s only gone and ruined my evening, that’s all :rage:

Curiosity got the better of me and today I learned you’re not real! A real eye opener.

A real eye-opener indeed. :joy::rofl:

As I explained further back in the thread, the issue lies solely with Vodafone because when a customer wants to update their direct debit details either in App or the web portal, the box to populate the customer’s bank branch address is missing. Because the branch address cannot be added by the customer, that then rejects any further customer input and directs the customer back to Vodafone. I’m guessing Vodafone might have already pre-populated some of the popular banks details and so some customers don’t get any issues, but that is pure speculation on my part.

So my Vodafone direct debit is set up to come out of my Chase account, but the problem is, I’ve since received an email from Vodafone telling me when my next bill is due (same monthly email every month) informing payment will be taken from my old bank account. Good luck with that, I’ve already cancelled the direct debit. I suspect, they just haven’t updated that particular part of their system and the next payment will come out of Chase without issues. I wait and see.

Not sure if people have seen this? Chase has announced that they are the official banking partner for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Surprised it didn’t work - I was able to pay a Voda direct debit via Dozens.

Voda once charged me a full months bill (£30) for one days usage (£1.50 something) and then refunded it 30 days later

I’ve also been unable to increase data allowances despite being out of contract

Dumbfounding company

Chase have just launched a remarkably simple refer a friend scheme.

They open an account, deposit £20 and Chase pay each of you £20 instantly for the trouble. That’s it. No other requirements. No fuss and rinsable.

Huh, I’d be £60 better off if they’d launched it 4 weeks ago!

Hmm. This is probably why the app is grindingly slow. If they’re going to go after customers so aggressively, they might consider building more capacity too :joy:

App is working fine for me :roll_eyes:
In fact, I referred my partner to Chase they setup their account very quickly, we transferred money to each other and we both received our rewards. Nothing slow about any of that!

You only have to use the Barclays app to see what slow is.

Loving Chase Bank. 5% interest on round-up savings, 1.5% easy access savings account, and 1% cash back on spending for a year! The app is really user friendly and easy to use too.

There’s also a new referral scheme where if a customer refers another, then each party receives £20. Here’s my referral link:

https://link.go.chase/emNK/refer?code=BDhin2Zv. T&Cs apply.

Or just input the code BDhin2Zv into the relevant part of the app if you have just recently joined.

Head over to the beer money subreddit

Wouldn’t bother, been waiting a day and no one has messaged me about it :pensive:
