Referral scheme ends tomorrow night.
= it broke them, so they’ve had to ditch it
Did they underestimate the UK public need for free cash?
OR
Did the ad run it’s time?
We will never know how much actually it brought into their coffer’s
Just thinking that.
I wonder if it’s the sort of thing a US bank would do
in the States to increase business or whether it was a punt.
Always struck me it was a blunt instrument which seemingly placed no caveats on the £40.
I wouldn’t be surprised ![]()
Very much doubt it’s the last joining offer we’ll see from them.
Revolut have these offers all the time, then a couple of weeks later they have another - usually with a slightly higher bonus than before.
Some may have seen this on the Monzo forum but I attempted to withdraw £20k from Chase savings yesterday morning. It was held for automated checking but still hadn’t been released by late afternoon. I had requested a call-back earlier and received one after 3 hours saying that the payment had been manually approved and would be with the receiving bank (Atom fixed saver) within a couple of hours,
Late last night I sent an in-app message saying that it was still showing as pending in my Chase app. This morning I have a reply saying that it is definitely showing as approved at their end but appears to be “stuck”. They’ve escalated it to another team.
Not good. That’s a lot of money to have stuck in limbo
Chase are increasing their monthly cash withdrawal limit from £700 to £1500 while overseas.
Finally been released, thank goodness.
Wanted to share a positive experience following the loss of my Chase card and I had no cash. Was about to use the card on the Tube in London and discovered it was missing. Checked everywhere wallet bag and floor around me but could not find it. After initial panic I went into the app changed the number and ordered a new card so effectively cancelling the lost one. Added the new card number to google pay and curve card. Contacted Chase through the app to inform them of the situation and check what else I need to do. I was then able to continue my day using the phone and curve card for purchases. On TFL the old card number was identified for my first completed journey and the new one was identified for all other journeys. The minor negative was that I had to get a call back from the Chase support desk before they were able to say that I had done everything they would have suggested to secure myself against improper use of the old card. If anyone attempted to use the old card, I do not know but only the transactions I expected appeared in the app.
Currently waiting for the new card but I am able to use the Curve card to get cash from the ATM and use both the phone and Curve for spending.
I believe the change in app only changes the virtual card number, which is different from the physical card number – the latter cannot be changed/updated without replacing the card. So you may not have had to update the virtual number but better safe than sorry I guess
They way that chase has been built is genius. At first I didn’t think I would like the numberless card. Especially as I hate switching between apps when buying online but I’m feeling it.
I just don’t want to switch anything other than my spending to chase due to its unreliability recently. Will see how it improves throughout the year!
I thought that was the case but Chase told me that had I not already done so they would have advised me to change the number and the get a replacement card.
Chase is not currently my main account just a spending account as I want to see how things develop too but was impressed with the ability to sort an uncomfortable situation out so easily
What’s even better was you had all the control and access to self serve in a friendly UI.
Agree completely. The ability to take control of the situation and deal with easily and quickly myself without contacting the bank was actually quite satisfying. The call to Chase just acted as reassurance I done everything I needed to do and to inform them of what happened if there had been issues
Technical issues recently with their confirm payment system. Its annoying in the app anyway, you need to bio authorise twice, and it’s often slow to come though. am now finding situations of their ‘I already authorised payment’ button on payee site doesn’t work in more than one place. Had to transfer money else where to make the payment.
The ‘tech’ side is less than impressive in general in my opinion, once the cashback ends there isnt anything currently there to stat for.
I’ll stay for the DD from interest bearing account feature, however, my spending is more than likely going to return to a cashback reward credit card, such as my Barclaycard Rewards or AmEx Platinum.
The savings account hasn’t been bettered yet, so as long it stays, I will.
