Use mine for Barclaycard use via Google Pay.
That’s it really. So rarely used tbh.

Yeah I use it for Plutus and Triodos Apple Pay functionality
I do for almost all transactions below £100 if no cashback/rewards to be lost.
Curve are now hiring a social media content manager
Clearly placing much store in the outward facing stuff. They’ve had a few own goals in the past with community and messaging, so this is timely.
Introducing Curve 2.0’s first update. A big UI change to the curve app.
It reminds me of predated android skins
Wrong order…
Yet no mention on their web site - not even as a “watch this space” piece.
There is. I put the link on the Monzo forum last week.
It’s only for business users though.
Not as simple as it looks. Comms isn’t Curve’s strong suit (even though I’m a fan). Having Curve Flex & the Flex card in play is a bit of a head scratcher.
As @arnie7 says above, it’s currently aimed at business use.
Anyone still using Curve?
Not sure when, but it seems they upped the card limit from 2 to 3 now, with 2 smart rules on the Free tier. May consider rejoining after closing my account years ago, as there doesn’t seem to be an alternative still.
No. Closed my account. Just as my new card arrived
It’s been three for a while now. Gbit for 30 days too. And two smart rules. Even on metal, although I put all the cards on, in reality I only used three, only ever went back a week or two and only used one rule. So, absent the free insurance, free is plenty for me.
That said, I did pay the £1.99 for black for the three month offer and made a tenner or so each month on the 1% cashback.
If you fancy the discounted lounge access, Payz do that free for £21/visit (Vs £24 on metal).
So Curve actually thinks other retailers respond very quickly when you ask about MCCs when it takes them weeks to respond to a complaint?
The transactions on their list are allowed by my banks at no extra fees.
This is what I have received in an email with their response.
My name is Stella from Curve and I will be helping you today. :)I apologise for the delay in getting back to you. We are currently experiencing a high demand and we cannot always respond as quickly as we would like.
I can confirm that as of the 13th of July, Curve now charges a 1% fee when making transactions with high risk Merchant Category Codes (MCCs).
Previously these transactions were declined through Curve, however we have decided to unblock these, to give our customers greater financial freedom.
This fee will be in addition to any other fees set out in our Subscription Schedule, if applicable.
Please note in line with our Terms of Service, we provided all customers 60 days notice before we started charging this fee.
You’ll be charged a 1% fee on all transactions made at merchants using the following high risk Merchant Category Codes (MCCs):

- 5933 - Pawn Shops
- 5966 - Direct Marketing—Outbound Telemarketing Merchants
- 6051 - Quasi Cash Merchant
- 6211 - Securities—Brokers/Dealers
- 7273 - Dating services
- 7372 - Computer Programming, Data Processing, and Integrated Systems Design Services

If you’re unsure of the MCC of a transaction before completing the purchase, please reach out to the merchant directly, as they will be able to advise.
**As per your feedback, at the moment we do not have the possibility to block those transactions beforehand or provide some kind
of disclaimer in app, I understand your perspective on this and I’d like to assure you that I’ve passed this on as feedback to see if a toggle is something that could be implemented in the future.**
I am sorry that this has caused you some discomfort. I completely understand your frustration, we are always trying to improve our service, in the hopes that we are able to provide a good experience to our users.
Do not hesitate to contact us for any further doubt, I will be happy to help!
Kind regards,
Less than obvious or things that you’d remember.
So no more putting money into the shares ISA for a start. No more buying watches or jewellery. Can’t buy that 1kg gold bar either (although, to be fair, I can’t afford it either).
Lass time I tried using Curve on Vanguard it was being rejected.
But all the transactions they want to charge 1% for are processsed by underlying bank cards with not fuss and no fee. Look at gambling, dating, data processing, computer software, lottery.
So presumably you could pay into Vanguard now, but they’d charge you 1%.
