I was able to change the PIN on my card ages ago, but I can’t remember exactly where I did.
I think it was a standard bank cash machine in the U.K.?

I did try, but it wouldn’t let me. At least it didn’t eat the card like Tesco Clubcard Pay did
That’s a shame.
I wonder if it’s something they are aware of or not?
Just opened an account - picked my card during the flow and submitted a passport. I’ve been able to set up Face ID and be shown the app but it’s not fully “open” yet
How long should I expect? Do you top it up by sending money to the IT IBAN from Revolut for instance?
It took a couple of days after they accepted my ID. They have a UK sort code and account number.
I haven’t received my card yet, though.
I see - I messaged them and they said the application is in progress and the account should be opened tomorrow. I used a PP so hopefully no pushback there…
Are transfers to the GBP details free? Wondering whether it’s best or quicker to send to there or use Revolut to send to the IT IBAN.
Oh that’s quite long! When was your account t officially opened? I wanted the EUR card for travel in May so hopefully will be fine…
How have people found payments in, in GBP over weekends/bank holidays? Does it have to wait until the next working day?
It was the next working day last time I tried it in both GBP and EUR.
EUR transfers in are now instant.
Has anyone tried it in an EU ATM lately? I’m wondering if it would avoid the non-EU £5 or so charge that British issued cards get hit with quite regularly these days (even if they are in EUR).
I think you may need to be more specific than “EU ATM” as, as I said on the other forum I withdrew Euros with Fineco with no charge in Latvia, Lithuania and the Netherlands recently but it appears your concerns relate to Spain and France currently. @riceuten posted something about Spanish atms on here recently.
Yes, I had initially assumed that banks across the EU would be applying these charges on the basis that if banks can charge for something, then they generally do. That’s clearly not the case, or at least not yet.
I know they do charge UK cards I. France an Spain at the moment and wondering if Fineco would be treated as an EU card and therefore wouldn’t attract these charges
I’m a actually interested in what happens in Germany due to an upcoming holiday and will know one way or the other next month. I’ve not come across any reports of charges or otherwise there yet.
I was in Berlin last year - just pop in a bank (such as HVB) with a Fineco, Revolut card etc and there will be no charges applied.
I was in France last year but didn’t touch a single piece of physical currency!
Last year was fine - something changed this January. French, Spanish and Austrian banks do now charge UK issued cards. See Why was I charged for cash in France with my Starling card? | This is Money
I know a colleague was hit with charges this year on both Revolut and either Monzo/Starling, (edit: in Spain) all UK issued of course. I think (well, hope) that Fineco will avoid this charging.
Fineco is closing in the UK. Presumably failed to obtain the licence necessary.
Very quick off the mark - it’s a shame was a good travel option. But I’m glad I sold down investments I had with them
Very unfortunate precedent. I’ve been using it as my travel card for five or six years now.
Brilliant for shares too. If you sell a share the money is available right away i.e. no several days to wait for settlement.
They were good - a very cheap platform & I was surprised by the share settlement too. It left your account in a minus for a few days
Given I got nowhere with Bankera - Cynergy might be my only route to a EUR account?
Or… have you thought about an actual Italian Fineco account? A colleague was considering that although he owns a property in Italy so maybe easier for him. There’s also some banks in the Baltic countries which seemed possible when I came across them a while back.
Does Synergy issue a non UK euro card?
I’m not sure how I’d be eligible for an Italian Fineco account
Cynergy details Personal Current Account in Euros.
It doesn’t say that it has a non UK BIN which is the key thing these days.
Wonder if anyone has one of their cards that we could do a BIN lookup on?
