Lloyds current account / mobile app: Any good?

Not a bank but Nationwide is also £500 a day.

I still have the Lloyds app on my iphone because I have a Lloyds credit card. There’s nothing at all on my screen even mentioning about keeping safe online. Oddly, Lloyds are still listing a Standard Saver account within the app which we haven’t used for nearly two years. I thought I’d asked Lloyds to just close it completely, but clearly they never did.

Yes and no. Sometimes they appear, sometimes they don’t. There are no messages showing this morning but I’m sure there was something yesterday.

ah that’s handy, thanks @anon85728687. Is that the complete list?

Thanks everyone for their helpful replies. The forum’s proving itself!

yes, I just cropped the top and bottom of my screengrab

I finally caved in and ordered a replacement Lloyds card - the peeling top corner was getting worse and it just frustrated me too much to look at it!

The replacement arrived today (@Seb the name did carry over!) and so I went to block the old one in the app, since it stays active for 30 days. In doing so I noticed this nice little bit of UI:

Rather than having to work it out by the last 4 digits, there are handy New and Old card labels to show which is which, and I especially like the use of the arrow. Impressive for an old fashioned bank!

They’ve had this for a while - I’ve noticed it just before routine card expiry and replacement.

I agree it’s a nice feature!

New Lloyds app update - subscriptions and quick links - though I’d rather they work on notifications for all payments going in and out and not just card.

Quick links have been available in their other apps for a while (MBNA, Bank of Scotland and Halifax).

This update was released a few days ago to bring Lloyds bank into line with the other brands.

They all now allow subscription management too.

What transactions don’t they currently include?

We’re not exactly sure, but some transfers don’t seem to be included.

Alerts are mainly for when you use your card. If you have a payment going out of you account by direct debit for example you will not receive a notification. However, if you have a credit going into your account you might know about it - but my experience so far is that it’s hit and miss.

These are the current alerts
Smart alerts are not necessarily smart.
Generally, I’m not informed about anything leaving my account.

That’s strange because I get notifications for standing orders, Direct Debits and faster payments in and out.
I also receive payments via PayM and for these I get a text message as well as a notification, so I’m notified twice!

I had a DD go out today (it’s new and only the second payment) but I didn’t receive a notification.
Also, upcoming payments only recognise DD’s as future payments after the 3rd transaction- this might be something to do with it but i’m not sure - so we’ll see what happens next month.

Any faster payments I make or receive I do get notified just not DD’s at the moment for some reason.

I agree that a little more granularity around upcoming regular debits would be good. We’re currently advised of next DD date and amount in the DD list itself, though a reminder of a debit tomorrow would be handy.

Nice app overall, though.

So to follow up - this morning I received a notification about the Direct debit payment - a day late!
It was actually paid on 2nd August

Wrong.

LOL! Wtf?!

What relevance does this have?

Dreadful! The only time I’ve used it, it took them over 24 hours to reply, I think I got stuck in some weird loop. A bot didn’t understand, a person gave me the wrong answer and then didn’t reply for over a day.

The app is sluggish and 95% of the time seems to be a full screen pop-up to tell me about an offer or new feature that I don’t care about and just takes longer/extra press to get to my account.

Yeah - this sounds suspiciously like somebody who was a mod here to start with but suddenly left. He always used to bang on about things being “woke” (and misunderstanding the meaning of the word).
