Not the way I’d start things off, but moving on. Let’s look after the forum, @JoeT
There’s the easy way and the hard way - today looks like the easy way.

Im sorry am i not allowed to comment on facts without being threatened with “the hard way” here @Mathew?
Yes really. I dont know about your preference but personally i dont want it the hard way
I’m disappointed there’s been no communication on the Monzo forums from any mods at all today.
Even a repeat of yesterday’s message would have been something.
I don’t think it’s going to stick around
I think wjat @Graham is referring to, is today is an easy day of modding compared to yesterday (I think it was yesterday?), which I agree with!
No problem with people using the flag, it’s a tool there to help us too - we can’t spend every minute on the forum. Just don’t spam us with them
It’s been quiet over there. Hopefully it comes back though…I know many people enjoyed it!
To be honest, I don’t miss the Monzo forum.
Prefer the atmosphere, so far, on this one.
Keeps me entertained anyway.
It’s my first pinned tab in my browser and I’m so used to swapping to it at a quiet moment and keep on being shocked that it’s still in read-only mode. Comms are non-existent. Very sad.
Yes, very much so. A most satisfying experience. Thanks everyone.
Said person enjoys doing it too, usually to antagonise a response which then makes the post breakdown further. There’s also the posts which basically say remember to behave or else, even when the post up until that point hasn’t caused a single issue. It’s almost as though said person enjoys coming in to actually derail the thread so he can archive it out the way.
Even the demise of the community occurred before dark mode launched.
The lack of updates shows where it’s going. The Groups are now showing as ‘Closed’ (although I am still shown as a member and can leave one of the groups that I’m part of) - although this could be a side-effect of the Discourse ‘Read-Only’ status
You learn something new about discourse every day! I was completely oblivious to this groups thing. The Monzo USA group is still open. Might join it just so I can be a part of something before that gets closed too.
I hope this isn’t the end, but silence doesn’t inspire confidence
Edit: you can’t join groups whilst in read only mode anyway. So why close them?
Personally I hope it’s the end, it’s run its course and actually isn’t needed by Monzo one bit. If they want to communicate (rarely) they can squeeze out a blog.
It doesn’t do them any good at all as it’s always a bun fight about something.
Okay now they really need to reopen it. Just found another new part of discourse and really can’t stand that I’m losing to rudedog of all people!
I think USA is the main reason Monzo will want to keep the community going. Not sure if any US banks have a similar community, so could be a differentiator.
Look, mom, I’m famous!
Although if it reopens I’ll need to up my popularity game
Has anyone seen rudedog by the way?
I’m missing posts about where’s my parcel though 🤷
The thing I genuinely don’t understand about Monzo, is why on earth would they maintain a community forum that is so utterly abused as a public mouthpiece for unhappy customers to whinge and moan that they’ve had their accounts blocked and closed? To me, that’s a PR disaster, but hey, I’m not in PR, so perhaps I really have no idea what I’m talking about
I wrote to DVLA 6 months ago, but Royal Mail have misplaced my parcel again! Can I ask IKEA to wait until I count all my parcels whilst going over the speed limit on my illegal private electric scooter?
Have I missed anything?
I think this is where the decision is being made now. It doesn’t take this long for it to “calm down” or to make any changes.
Someone is deciding if it’s coming back at all.
Yes. Your medication.
