The article specifically states UK licenses. In any event, it all seems to be very early in the planning.
They’re very flakey in the distinction.
Despite all the licences saying UK on them, there is a completely separate system in GB from that in NI which is becoming more and more of a pain with more places using the driving licence as ID.
Last I spoke with our guys, it wasn’t happening in NI anytime soon, but I’ll be chatting to them again in February so will ask.
The GB guys are quite far along with the work as far as I know.
While I acknowledge they should be releasing an app for it, they should also be supporting Apple and Google Wallet for minimal ID sharing via NFC (or creating the legislation for wallet providers to support third party ID providers with government certifications)
