That’s the only reason I did – I’m perfectly happy with Barclays but I might test RBS as my daily bank for a while after this

I’m surprised it popped on there before Monzo! When I was looking through MSE, there weren’t too many recognisable names.
Did they credit this place for it?
No, they just simply put the link and the sort code one must choose. Could be a coincidence but I’m not sure it is! Let’s hope it doesn’t also go on Monzo or else we’ll all have accounts closed/transferred to a bog standard RBS branch

Could be a coincidence! But, they haven’t had a link to the old form on their website for quite some time! So posting it just a few days after it’s posted on here is a bit sus.
Someone among us may be an imposter! I’m curious how high we turn up in Google if someone tries searching for how to open one of those accounts.

I’d hazard a guess they’re just a member here too, but they’ll probably remain tightlipped. Bit of an arse to not credit it though. I highly doubt it’s a coincidence.
As I only applied yesterday I can’t check but can you add to the Monzo app through RBS? If so what card shows up? I assume it’s he RBS one as I’m pretty sure those are Monzo images but worth asking

I would presume it would just be RBS too, but I don’t currently have Monzo Plus to test it with! Hopefully someone else does, if not I’ll test it just as soon as virtual cards can be linked to pots!

I put the sort code in to ‘pay’ someone and it comes up with the RBS logo in Monzo so the fanciness stops with the card and chequebook

I don’t have Monzo plus, but I suspect it will be.
It would look to open banking providers like an RBS account.

How long did the account opening process take for people?
Applied Sunday then got confirmation yesterday my account would be open within 24 hours. Had to supply ID to them on Tuesday and e sign.

Applied Monday at 9pm, supplied documents yesterday at 3, got the text just now.
I suppose now I wait for all the bits and bobs to turn up before I can register for online/mobile banking?
Also, @Seb, do you know if I was to upgrade to a rewards platinum account over time, would I lose my C&C card for a plain RBS one, or do I keep the existing card?

For those looking to add a further RBS account (different sort code) to their collection:
I completed the Child @ Co account application last week complete with app setup. All good
I applied for the Drummonds account on Monday, got accepted, and “lo and behold” - both accounts are, as of an hour ago, sat side by side in-app.
Excellent experience. I’ll be using both.
And I really like the app experience.
So for those still in the mix, be patient.

Does the Drummonds account come with a special card? I’m sure that was discussed before, but I’m too lazy to find!
Also, ClearScore are showing two(!) RBS hard searches due to appear on my next report so I’m not keen to get another account just yet – I want to go for the Chase account when it launches and need to apply for credit when the iPhone launches.
Not just yet but the documents I signed said Child & Co somewhere so it should be all fine. Do these things come by post or via email?
