Yep same here
The excitement is palpable (and I’ve already got mine set up). I should get out more …
It looks like mines been approved already. Might be because I have had a product with them before. However my documents did in fact say child and co
I think they merge your new account into your existing profile once it’s open.
Otherwise, if they don’t automatically, wait until it is open and you are up and running before requesting that they merge your new duplicate customer profile with your existing profile.
It’s happened to me more than once before when opening new products at TSB (I know, the bank that doesn’t work), and it’s always an easy fix.
I don’t know why this is exciting but it feels like we’re all on this journey together. It’s been keeping me entertained for sure
I bet they haven’t had this many people apply for an account at the same time for quite a while
They probably have after a bout of interest over at MSE.
Anyway, it’s nice to see everyone getting approved. It makes this forum feel like an exclusive club!
Well it still is because you don’t just apply like you would for any other account.
You go through a special process that most people don’t know about, not to mention that most people still don’t even know that Child & Co exists.
My new select account is now open. Branch: London Child & Co
No checks. my card, pin and documents are on their way in the next few days.
I got an in app message with the details
I had an account too, and I don’t think I was really. It’s nice to share with our fellow fintech enthusiasts (and we are only a small corner of the internet anyway).
So you are an existing customer?
That’s the usual process, a copy of the account opening letter (which also will arrive later in the post) is added to your in-app Mailbox as soon as it’s generated.
Yeah, I have a reward account already
Strange I have an account with rbs already but had to upload Id again
Depends on usage maybe? Saying that, last time i opened by current account they never asked for checks either, maybe the automated checks they did were enough. But id had an account with them previously for some time, and already had a dormant savings account and dormant credit card
I’ve opened loads of accounts with RBS and NatWest over the years, sometimes they ask for ID and sometimes they don’t.
It could be anything, like you applied during the 15 minutes when their connection to CRAs was down, or you are asked because 1 in every 100 applicants gets asked as a spot check. I don’t know, it could be anything.
It never seems to be a problem, as long as you do have documents you can use as ID.
Interestingly i couldn’t open a NatWest account (when i tried a couple of years ago), but could re-open an RBS account. NatWest refused my application. Maybe because i was already an RBS customer?
I’ve been an account holder at Child & Co. for 15 years and have opened a NatWest Reward account within that time, so it’s not that.
No, it’s not that.
I opened an RBS account first, and then went on to open a NatWest account later.
Well, application submitted for me too. It says they will be in touch with additional documents that they require – it had a lot of odd questions like do I have another account and when I opened it.
I also didn’t get an email confirmation like @anon62610374 and stupidly I didn’t even make a note of the application reference! Was anyone else in the same shoes?
I didn’t get an email notification, they just opened it the next day
