They only survived because they were rescued/bailed out.
Savers didn’t lose anything, you’re right, but anybody who still held the original free shares, which is how the original merger windfall would have been paid, would have seen their value plummet, or even wiped out altogether. Bradford & Bingley shares, for example, became worthless overnight. I know, because I had some.
Nope, not yet. Just debit card transaction notifications, biometric approval instead of the card reader, and “enhanced security” when registering for the mobile app, whatever that means
Yes, I just noticed too. It’s pretty cool and follows the new iOS design language with the floating elements that don’t extend to the edge of the screen. It’s a shame the whole app hasn’t been revamped like that yet
Yes, I was going to say it’s very much of the iOS 15 aesthetic.
In which case, they’ve really launched it slightly early!
You do have to wonder what’s going on with Dark Mode. It’s been months since it arrived in the NatWest app, and things only usually stay in the “Coming Soon” section of the app for a month or two, so this is a really puzzling.
Maybe the design change delayed it. RBS has different brand colours as well so I can kind of understand why they might not have been released at the same time
I revisited the app and had a play around. I like the new design, even though it introduces even more white space. It’s a shame it hasn’t been applied to the transaction list or other parts of the app
Ok, so I thought I’d take a look at the latest reviews about the RBS iOS app. Everyone seems to be complaining most about the change of font to a rather diabolical size. I concur, they’ve mucked about with it when there was no need, but I don’t look at the app anywhere near as I do my Starling app.
Unfortunately, the developer of the app has resorted to the same cut and paste response to critics, ‘Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback’ just poor in my opinion, they may as well not bother responding at all.
Maybe it’s approaching the time to CASS for a switching bribe.
