My limited experience with them thus far adds further evidence that Cater Allen is truly an old-school outfit. Welcome pack + internet banking (no app) and a nice lady with a 1950’s BBC accent in customer services. ![]()
None of this surprises, does it?

Bit like planes. You want your pilot making the announcements in a BBC accent ![]()
Except if you’re Australian. She thinks the only airline worth considering is Qantas.
Having flown BA 5 times in the last year, it’s probably better considering Qantas than BA.
Peculiar given it was fixed term, was only available for a limited period and the base rate hasn’t changed (yet) and is unlikely to fall by a whole % point when it does.
Not the best look I’m afraid, Santander.
Does the new Santander app have transaction notifications?
Mine doesn’t. I have the Everyday Account.
I don’t think any Santander current accounts do.
Nope, it doesn’t. At least not that I know of.
Lot of discussion going on in various social media circles about the new app that is being rolled out (mine updated today - android).
Mixed reactions, including my own tbh.
So, I’ve finally had my “forced” upgrade to the new Santander. The good news is that it’s not as bad as their Pilot app.
However, there are a few things it desperately needs including:
Is this the Android or iOS version?
Someone on Android sent me a message saying it is awful
Android.
While a big improvement over the Pilot app they had, I prefer the old app.
The changes currently seem more form over substance - if a bit more substantial than Nationwide’s recent effort.
Well well……
It wasn’t UK customers when I last read about it…
Today I’ve had an email from Santander Boosts telling me that I can have £5 off a £50 spend at Morrisons online, addressed to my email address with my name and the last 3 letters of my postcode in it… a couple of hours after I received the same email, to the same email address, with a different person’s name and last 3 letters of their postcode.
Maybe they’re trying to make up for UK customers not being part of the data breach by dripping out customer data bit by bit!
Did anyone else have a similar snafu or am I just the lucky one?
The 2nd email. which you seem to have received first said it was a mistake and test data.
We’re sorry but we’ve spotted an error in our regular offer email which meant you may have
received a message containing test data in the name and postcode fields.
Thanks, saw that on a re-read but didn’t notice it first time round - the joys of skim reading emails to pull out the headline data and ignore half the fluff!
I have finally updated to their new iOS app.
I don’t see anything new apart from moving items about.
No added features. The hype was for nothing
Do Santander have instant spending notifications? I have an account with them and am considering switching from Halifax, but I can’t see anywhere to enable them.
Thank you.
