Tymit - Who uses it? What do you think?

On another forum someone suggested they might be looking to move to B2C, ala NewDay and offer store credit cards etc.

I can’t see them breaking into that market successfully, but good luck to them.

To be fair to them they replied to me very quickly and got back to me to let me know they’ve now released an update with a fix.

Looks like Tymit are now offering website based financing checkout solutions similar to Klarna.

I just sat in a Google Meet with an agent from an agency who is working on our checkout partners and whilst being presented with a few options (Klarna, Clearpay) I also noticed Tymit on the list.

They’ve been offering this for a few months but looks like they’re completely repositioning. The credit card business is now tucked away in a submenu on the website.

Whoever the graphic designer is for this wonderful illustration deserves a pay rise though:

That chip positioning :joy::joy::joy:

I’ve requested to close my Tymit account as the main selling point was the 3 month interest free option that they no longer offer.

I enjoyed it whilst it lasted and just completed my last instalment on this plan. Now it’s like any of my other credit cards and since they never reported to credit reference agencies, I guess the one way it helped me is no longer working for me. I don’t like paying any interest, so I’d never use the longer plans they offer.

Still waiting for customer service to reply to confirm they will close my account. It’s been 4 days so far, but I’m not in any rush so it’s fine.

I’ve closed my account for the same reason. Don’t see the point in it anymore :person_shrugging:

Wait, what! So they killed their USP and are now just a credit card-wannabe lacking basic functionality or any form of support?

Great, I suppose that’s a way to encourage people to leave your platform as soon as possible so you can focus fully on B2B.

I use Klarna for pay in 3. Absolutely stress free and a really simple to use app. I also like that they don’t have to be direct debit repayments
