Yes, they seem to hide the option if you’re not eligible.

I don’t know how I feel about it – it clearly generates a lot of confusion though I can see what the intention was even if it worked out not quite so.

I see the same as you - the option to apply for a joint account. I haven’t tried going through the flow, though, so it might still fail at some stage.

Equally it could just be yet another A/B test we don’t know about. Reminds me of the whole vanishing chat button saga.

No, this was actually confirmed by staffers on the forum. If it’s not there you can go hunting for the option in Help then you’ll be told no. If you do have the option it’ll let you go through the flow

Yes, this is the way it is for me. I do not have the option to add a Joint account. I can find the ‘open a joint account’ Help topic, but i get ‘rejected’ when clicking the request in the help article.

For now, I’m just shifting direct debits back to my personal monzo account, and will skip the joint account.
