I asked if I could rejoin. I closed my account because they couldn’t sort my access to the app after accidentally shredding the activation code for the card alongside the envelope. My fault I know, but I assumed it was just junk like other cards come with.
I know there was talk of a year’s ban but the closure confirmation says “reapply any time”
I’m not holding my breath as the app is royally borked for me at the moment with verification emails saying they’ve expired despite being seconds old; and the chat function erroring out constantly.
Might be worth trying the delete, restart phone, reinstall app approach that often seems necessary these days for banking app bugs.
Give the email system some time to cool down too. A problem I always had with bulb’s magic links was they took too long to arrive sometimes, or didn’t arrive, so would request a new one. When one eventually came, I’d click it to find its expired. Turned out the delay meant I was always an email or two behind, and requesting a new one invalidated the existing one.
Thanks! It was about 9 months ago now so the app has been off my phone for ages. I suspect it’s the remnants of my details from last year that’s causing issues. Have emailed support@ and will see how long they take to respond.
I still stand by the “this pool is pretty small and they’re not doing much attracting of them by offering 1.5% cashback”. They’re just cannibalising Triodos customers
Mayy have closed my Triodos account in August and opened an Algbra account in June
I’ll be honest I can’t see myself keeping it post the Apple Pay cashback offer expiring, it just feels far too similar to Revolut (this has far too much utility for me to drop) to me - I almost wish I could bring it into the same app…
I’ll also be out once the 1.5% cashback expires, unless they offer something similar, back to using chase, if their 1pct offer still stands by then, and simplifying my accounts a little.
I’ve had some issues - issues with cashback as well recently. With the 1% deal ending soon, I’ve decided to call it a day. Not worth the admin for a max of £10 per month.
They’ve gone fairly silent on me since requesting it though.
It has been working fine for me, cashback received within 7 days too.
I just tried to login for the first time today and rather than getting the normal prompt for finger print it has logged me out and after going through email and OTP to login again, the balance is not showing.
I’ve had nothing since Sept 26. I’ve spent quite a lot this month so it’s possible I’ve hit the limits, but it would be nice to be told if that were the case.
I can’t believe I’m bouncing between Monzo and algbra at the checkout, over 0.5%
It’s not like I need the cash that much, more that Monzo cashback is instant and into a separate pot, so it feels like you’re earning something, whereas algbra cashback just gets randomly thrown into the mix. It doesn’t even tell you which cashback entry refers to what transaction, so I don’t even try to track it anymore tbh.
