Fur future reference, it’s probably best to not use that one on a financial forum with no context when the Financial Ombudsman Service is a thing that is usually referenced with that very same acronym. Particularly when none of the explainers on urban dictionary are remotely as pleasant. :grimacing:

Wonder why they haven’t closed mine then? I’ve not used it since May.

i think mine is pre-may usage. probably do a half/yearly sweep on them or something

fair! Too many hidden identity role-playing games…

Same issue here - 2 weeks worth of (Apple Pay) transactions - zero cashback, not even pending. As I said above, I strongly suspect they only pay out cashback when they, er, have the cash, but not when they don’t.

On a pessimistic view, that sounds like a business that’s about to go bust.

I’m getting cashback every couple of days, sometimes daily.

I find them very responsive in chat. Have you queried the lag in payment?

The reason I haven’t contacted them is that it didn’t work last time. They didn’t respond to the contact at all.

Recent news suggests not.

Just logged in to make a complaint. My last message to them was there, unread, after 39 weeks. This sounds like an organisation being run from the back of a pub. I suspect an issue is that when I download a statement, it shows zero spend, no outgoing transactions at all

Email seems to have worked.

Still not convinced it isn’t cash flow issues

“Hi there, Lauren here

We are aware of an issue that is causing a delay to cashback payments on transactions from 1st November onwards, and our team is working with the cashback service provider to resolve this as soon as possible.

All cashback has been tracked and will be paid into your account as soon as possible.

Please let me know if there’s anything else that I can help with, otherwise have a great day

Hmmm

Well, looks like a good response to me.

I’m a glass half-full type of chap

I have never had the cashback paid to my account within 7 working days - usually around 4-6 weeks afterwards. They completely ignored my query about why no transactions are showing in the app. I think the glass is looking quite empty, to be honest. And there’s the unanswered query from 39 weeks ago…

Probably doesn’t help regarding that query as still on the plate. It’s long gone and no-one surely is looking at it and disregarding it.

On a point of clarity, is your account still showing no spend?

If so, your issue is about that and not cashback. Have they specifically ignored that question?

All my support tickets also come from Lauren. Maybe poor Lauren is the only CS rep and that’s why it’s taking months to hear back. I just chased on an email I sent in September regarding rejoining.

Mainly for the card as from what I read here they’re only a notch above Kr-poo

I am missing cashback on a few transactions (but not all) dating back to October. Some were in person and some online. I have noticed that for the October ones, when I check the transaction details in the Algbra app, they do not show the gpay symbol so this could be the issue. If I cannot be sure that it will track as gpay then there is no point using Algbra, may as well stick with Chase who make it much easier to see if a transaction has been awarded cashback.

I will wait until the end of November for the current “issues” to be resolved and contact support.

I wouldn’t hold your breath

Received an email from Algbra today RE cashback:

An update on recent
cashback delays

Hi N26throwaway,
We’re pleased that so many of you are enjoying our market leading cashback offer of 1.5% on ApplePay and GooglePay, although we note that recently this hasn’t been appearing as quickly as usual for some of our customers.
We have checked with our partners and, whilst cashback is typically paid within 7 - 10 working days, it can sometimes take up to 30 days to appear in your account, depending on the merchant you’ve shopped with.
Rest assured that if you are experiencing any delays, all eligible cashback is tracked and will be paid out as usual. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us through the in-app chat.
Best wishes

Team Algbra

I just checked October & November.

This month, I’ve received cashback on:
1, 3, 4, 13, 16th

In October, however:
I got cashback pretty much every day

So there’s definitely been an issue of sorts this month, as algbra acknowledge. Good comms though. :relieved:

They’re still showing no spend in my account and I just tried to add Google Pay and they refused. Think I will run the £90 balance down to zero and just close this shambles of an account, given the email I received from them hadn’t even been written with me in mind.
