Chase UK Discussion

If I was starting from scratch today, and I’d used up the Chase 1% offer, I’d be looking at the Barclaycard Avios credit card. If you convert the points to Nectar and spend them at Sainsburys, Argos or eBay at face value it’s equivalent to 0.8% in rewards, plus a sign up bonus.

It would appear that Chase have extended their 1% cashback offer period.

Check in your app to see if you have been extended to end of February 2023.

Not so far. Just get the “you may have to restart….” message. R-

Brain freeze - where in the app?

Edit: Ah, found it - yes - 23rd Feb

Actually- just realised my end date is April 2023 anyway.

Same in mine too

This morning at 4am Chase held a transfer of £400 from my Lloyds bank account.
This is the same account that always transfers to this Chase account and most of my transactions to Chase are around this time of the day. I have made bigger transactions than this in the past with no issues, I just don’t know what made the difference this time round.
I made the transaction from home (usual location)
I contacted support through chat who requested me to provide a screenshot of the transaction in my Lloyds bank app and also confirm the Chase account details to which the payment was made. I did that and the money came in 5 minutes later.
Total delay was 48 minutes. This was really annoying.

I always thought it was the sending bank that held up transfers, not the receiving one, so that’s interesting.

Chase delayed a transfer of £55 yesterday to my Zopa account. Only about five minutes or so, with the little yellow warning box about the pending delay, but still niggling tbh.

Reducing my exposure to Chase bit by bit, unless they move the goalposts and make these checks worthwhile.

Sounds like it might have been a bug (faster payment incoming got lost) rather than a fraud check?

Weird that they asked for a screenshot of another bank’s application. What do they do for customers on Android, who typically have default screenshot behaviours disabled?

I got a confirmation notification from LLoyds shortly then gave Chase 5 minutes, nothing. Sent more money from LLOyds to HalifaX, Santander, Metro `and Nationwide all reaching almost immediately. That made me raise my eyebrows.

I guess they would have long explanations to make

I’m moving away from them. Some fundamental issues here.

This is Chase’s standard monthly statement email:

Find it amusing that where it states On your computer? the following paragraph basically says, Get your phone then

Yeah, that’s always amused me

I’ve tweeted them…. Let’s see, eh?

I have just noticed that Chase recently increased my ATM withdrawals abroad from £700 to £1500 without me asking. I checked this limit last week and it was still £700
Did anyone else get this increase?
This is a plus for me as I already have a trip booked for December. I asked for a limit increase last year and they never bothered to get back to me as promised.

Same here and I’ve never asked for an increase so must be changing them across the board

Yup, same here. Nice of them. Just got to g abroad now! R-

Chase again holding a small transfer of £100 from my Halifax account. Halifax say it was sent.
Chase have just gotten back saying they don’t see anything
