Chase UK Discussion

Oh right. I didn’t know that. Should maybe pay more attention

And what do you use when you no longer have the ID document you used to create the account, say, for example, because it has expired?

The support agent was just not competent enough

Has anyone had an issue with Chase where a Direct Debit shows as upcoming last night and I got a push notification during the day but it’s still not been taken and it is no longer showing in upcoming?

Not quite as you describe, but I have had direct debits taken quite late in the day (by DD standards). At around 7.45am. Ordinarily they go out between 2am and 4am.

They ended up going out at lunch time. So bizarre

Here’s a photo of Chase Times Square to brighten up your Saturday. :grinning:

I see not much hullabaloo about the HSBC outage on here last night

Because it wasn’t Chase. “Serious” outages only affect Chase and we are all leaving it because of that. I could not pay for my groceries when Chase had problems at night. :joy::joy:

Yes, this is exactly my point :joy:

I was joining a new gym today and the mobile signal wasn’t great there. I wanted to setup a direct debit using my Chase account but couldn’t load the app to find out my account details. I feel this is just one of the issues with numberless and no account details on the card. I haven’t really had a problem before today - but it was rather annoying.

I defaulted to my Barclays account in the end. However, I did get onto Wi-Fi in the building but this was too little too late.

I think Chase should give customers the option of having all details printed on the card if required.

Or you could save them in a note on your phone?

The card isn’t always linked to a single sort code /account number plus the 16 digit card details (mastercard) actually on the card aren’t the same as the details in the app.

I’ve taken a screenshot of mine which probably isn’t secure but the app locks you out if there’s an update available and you haven’t updated it yet. I got caught out when I was abroad because my phone won’t update apps on roaming and then I couldn’t get my card details until I found wifi to update the app.

I find this HUGELY irritating when a company refuses you access to an app unless you update. They probably say “there are important security updates in this release” when the reality is that they are just changing the ads.

Any particular reason why you wouldn’t update?

How would you know if there was security updates?

As @Loau says there are times when it is not convenient to update an app instantly such as if you’re roaming or in an area with very slow data speeds.

Because they will often say it is. My record for one week is Santander, with 4, and they were huge downloads at the time. Is the app any whizzier ? No
