Chase UK Discussion

It’s to encourage existing customers to look again at Chase

I notice their standard savings rate no longer betters (or even matches) the rate of US competitor Marcus suggesting they don’t want standalone retail deposits; JP Morgan certainly don’t need them.

It’s not the rate that’s my issue, it’s that they don’t do a cash ISA so I shifted all but the bills money out a while back.

Not too pleased at not getting the offer either as that bills account has way more than the £500.

It will, but I’ll be surprised if it drops lower than Santander’s upcoming interest rate.

They are looking for existing customers that have stopped actively using them.

No onboarding costs and a slight uplift in credit interest for a few months. See if it works, if so rinse and repeat.

I’m not sure that’s quite it.

You could use them very regularly as a day to day current account, but never for saving, and you would be eligible.

You could also have signed up some time ago but never really used it for anything, and you would be eligible.

It feels to me like this is more a play to get customers who do use them (probably for cashback) to consider using them for (more of) their savings.

Which is precisely the case with me.

Yes, it looks like they might be trying to move to using it as their main bank I e. for both transactions and savings.

What I don’t get is why they don’t upgrade the rate generally for people under this.

Surely it incentivises me having one account and dumping all the money into it?

I just emptied the 4.1% into the 5.1% one…

My 4.1% has been empty for some time. I expect that’s why they offered me the 5.1%!

Looking around, that’s definitely a good addition to the marketplace. It’s now all about what happens in November.

November?

November is when the Chase “boosted” rate ends.

I also am making use of it, including having some direct debits come from this. Glad to have it.

I also have made some use of this new boosted rate. I also have a chunk in Metrobank @5.22. This will be going down to 4.97 sometime this month

Anyone here know how to find the Chase card Valid FROM date please? R-

I’m wondering where you would need that? Some cards (including it seems Chase) don’t have a valid from date, but in all cases I’m aware of you can leave the box blank if asked for this, and the transaction or whatever will still go through.

Airport parking - Bristol. Certainly the first time I’ve been asked for it. R-

You could generate a new card. If you do that today it would be from 04/24.
