Soft search. I think companies can only do a hard search if they are offering you a credit facility.

I think that they are going to be seen as such, given that their current offering is very close to what ‘real’ FinTechs are doing.

One hiccup and now the app is stuck in a loop.
Firstly, it didn’t accept my driving licence, because it wouldn’t match my full second middle name to just the initial on the licence.
Secondly, made it to the verification email, but just haven’t received an email. Tried another address too. Still no email.
Thirdly, tried to change the address again, but now the app asks for PIN, then back to the verification email screen. Tap to change email address, back to PIN… Eugh
Update: clearing the cache got me out of the loop. Changed email and that worked, but hilariously they’ve managed to send emails to the first two email addresses I tried, telling me I’ve changed my email address. I’m not sure sending emails to an unverified address is wise.
Now the wait

My account seemed to be opened very quickly, with no discernible delay for the checking of the selfie or anything.
The app seems solid, but a bit basic so far.
It’s also very white (clean though) so I hope they are working on a dark mode!

I think people often conflate fintech with neo banks, but that’s just not the case. Only need to look at some of the recent tech from the big banks to see they
