I’ve had similar happen with Monzo virtual cards. Switch to the ‘main’ card and it’s fine. I was told it was due to the merchant not having updated the number ranges.
Just had Ocado delivery and after shopping the total was adjusted about 2 minutes after deliver with chase and they also adjusted the cashback amount
I see the Chase app on iOS has had an update today, v.1.1.0
Unlike Starling, Chase dispenses with the childish update notes but it is guilty of cut and paste with each version. Basically nothing to say. May as well just print, ‘We’ve done stuff, you won’t notice anything’.
I did wonder if my card purchase at Boots would track via Airtime Rewards, similar to using Apple Pay where it uses a different card number, but nothing so far.
My Airtime rewards purchase take 10 days to track for any attached card
I might have missed it somewhere, but does Chase pay cashback for purchases made via PayPal? I apologise in advance if this has been answered already.
They are tracked as long as they’re in the MCC category of those eligible for cashback
The PAN (card number) on the physical card is different to the details in the app.
If the rewards are linked to the card number then it is unlikely to work .
Isn’t that the same with Apple pay and Google pay but they still work?
I can confirm that you get cash back if you use PayPal, Apple Pay, curve, or curve behind Google pay.
Any purchase however you make that purchase you will get cash back assuming what you are purchasing qualifies.
I’ve only had these type of things work where the issuer is running the offer - so they will have it on an account level and not the card number/PAN level. Where it’s linked to the card PAN then that physical card has to be used and not the virtual one in GPay/Apple Pay.
Ok, I’ve been hitting my Chase account a lot over the last week, now using it as my priority personal spend account rather than my Starling account, purely for the cashback. Just to make it clear, I won’t be giving up my Starling account any time soon!
Anyway, funding the account. I fund it by transferring cash from my Starling account. The only thing that bugs me though, is that Starling can’t verify my Chase account name, so both times I’ve transferred cash into my Chase account from Starling, I get all the scam warning messages and the ‘We can’t verify the account name’ warning, do I want to proceed? Well clearly I do want to proceed and I do. Just wondered though, is anyone else having the same experience?
I purposely DO NOT transfer any cash out of my RBS account to Chase. I’ve already read on this forum about what might happen there.
I transfer across from Monzo.
All fine really, but then it is by regular payment, not one off.
Funded okay from my Tesco savings directly as well.
I have transferred from FD, Lloyds, Halifax, TSB, And Metrobank and only got that warning at step of setting up new payee, subsequent transfers go through with no warning.
Yeah, there’s no problem transferring, albeit though transfers are not instantaneous like they are with other banks, my Chase account takes a good couple of minutes to notify me the funds have landed. It’s just the account verification thing, don’t know why that isn’t sorted yet.
It’s annoying like you say – Hopefully Chase UK will introduce “Confirmation of Payee” (to/from). I’ve transferred from Starling and Santander, both take a minute or so to land at Chase. A little annoying because other banks it’s pretty much instant.
Yes, it’s made me very twitchy both times I’ve transferred several hundred quid waiting for the notification to come through and like you say, with other banks, the money just hits within a nano second.
That’s the issue when standards are set.
We know it’s achievable, therefore, we expect!
Does anyone earn cash back on purchases at BP? Customer support told me they are not eligible but those I make at Shell always earn me cash back. She initially said BP is eligible then when I told her I have untracked transactions and sent receipts she said they are not. Anyone else facing the same? Past previous transactions were through Curve and today I made another one using Chase card, still no cash back at BP.
Why is BP left out?
