Yes, sounds like exactly this!

Ah - a bit Virgin Money-esque?

You get an extra year of cashback for every banker you defeat in the Chase Octagon.

Which shopping destination is it?

If it’s Longbridge Town (6 miles south of Birmingham) we’re in business.

(Though seriously, it will be interesting to see what they do with that concept.)

“Coming to a shopping centre near you”, so I imagine they’ll be all over the country.

Never heard Longbridge called that before

My old man used to work on that site in the seventies.

Seriously though, it would be nice to see the Octagon come local for a change.

I think the best we can hope for though is the Bull Ring or Grand Central :man_shrugging:

Suppose it depends how long it is proposing to stay to visit.

I’m picturing something basic like the Sky TV counters in shopping malls.

Ooh, I hope not. Boring lol

Something more like a Martin Lewis Roadshow?:joy:

Good point. The pop-up nature of the Octagon was lost on me. I get it now … and I approve

Longbridge is indeed a town now. It’s even got a High Street - and indeed a huge “flagship” M&S.

As a tribute to your dad’s efforts (at the Rover plant?) the only evidence now of the success story that was the Midlands car industry (:face_with_raised_eyebrow:) is an MG facility (where door handles are bolted onto Chinese imports…:unamused:).

A Chase Octagon will be acceptable to us here…… in the town of Longbridge

That is home to a pub called The Cambridge :man_shrugging:

Spoooky….You mean here……?

Like right now ?

(Am I being tracked, by any chance? :flushed:)

interesting! such a relative thing to be telling folks! For instance, my nearest shopping destination (probably where they’re headquartered) which has a chance of being one of the chosen ones is an 8 hour journey to get to. Unless they plop one in Inverness, a day trip is off the cards!

Yes. This idea only really works if the coverage is substantial, and the reason for it is more than just sign-ups. Popping up in city centres will likely cheese off the majority of existing customers who’d find the getting there awkward.

And you’d only go if there were a reason for it. There’s a real chance this’ll be underwhelming for those already engaged with Chase.

Wait and see, I guess.

I wonder if they’re clever enough to have an octagon in the app too

Noticed this on Twitter, however, determine for yourself what “real soon” really means

Hey @rahmaanquadri. Delighted you are enjoying the new cashback feature! Google Pay is coming real soon, keep an eye on your emails. — Nicolle

Anyone passing by one of the locations please report what this is actually like. Sadly they’re not giving away much on their socials and I don’t think I’ll be visiting any of the places

Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol are locations too. Currently trying to bribe a friend to go to the Arndale one. They’ll be there doing Christmas shopping anyway.
