Bit far for me
Does no one else think it’s a bit irresponsible promoting enclosed spaces in the middle (perhaps the start…) of the third wave?
I could probably go to the Bristol one as it’s not far, albeit I’d have to convince someone to go shopping with me
Is it in the Bullring in Birmingham?
Not really? As long as people are safe it’s fine. They already will be spending all their day in shops. And it’s by appointment only so people will be with their own group of people
Used Chase on London underground other day and just wanted to get the receipt for expenses. I found adding card details from app on TfL website didn’t link the physical numberless card but when look at the actual transection in Chase app it had the whole numberless card details.
So if you’re in London are really can’t live without knowing your numberless card details just hop on a bus and touch your card
So….
Booking your visit
You can only book your experience on the day. Simply scan the QR code at the Chase Octagon to get started. Experiences are subject to availability – with an average of 100 experiences daily.”
Not just a simple walk-in, then……
I’ll pass tbh
Comments on the other forum suggest Chase can be added to Google Pay, though none of the posters seem to have used it at a shop yet
You can add any card to Google Pay, it being available to use for contactless is another matter
This is an actual “add to Gpay” option in the Chase app, though.
What with the pop-up lasting a matter of days, and it meaning me braving a trip into Birmingham (and braving actually being there…) I reckon I’ll likely swerve it too.
(Don’t really need another mug, anyway).
The card now works as contactless in GPay
This pop up experience:
I’ve tweeted asking if there’s more to it than that. Doesn’t sound too promising if it’s what it looks like.
There’s a £5 gift card and a £100/£1000 prize draw which would be enough for me to pop in if I was passing by anyway
But you can’t just pop in. You have to try and book on the day
Wonder if that’ll be an issue for those not savvy.
I’ve really warmed to Chase and I’m using them for all day-to-day spending.
Can’t say I really get the Octagon thing, however.
Quite who would want to turn up and have a psychedelic experience and claim £5, all only doable on the day, evades me. Feels more like a Monzo thing, somehow.
A marketing thing I suppose, to get the brand out there with a good first impression. A fun little break from your Christmas shopping, free money for your troubles, and the chance to win a bit more. Onlookers will no doubt take notice as well and ideally find all the fuss intriguing.
It’s not really meant for us folk, who know about it before the unsuspecting shoppers who will actually experience it. The perspective we naturally look at this stint from isn’t the perspective that matters I don’t think.
I get the impression that someone on their team watches a bit too much Saturday night takeaway because it gives me those super computer vibes.
