Chase UK Discussion

Shuffling commenced - a tad guilty pinching it from Atom but well, you know how it is. :flushed:

250k

FSCS of course only applies up to 85k

£250,000

I have just blown Virgin Money as they have now blocked my accounts as they don’t like me shifting my money out en masse

Careful how quick you do it

Tesco Bank emptied easily, but Virgin Money are holding my transfers back until they satisfied I am not being scammed.

Halifax didn’t bother me at all, same with Lloyds.

Transferred the lot into my Monzo account and will transfer to Chase over the next few days. Monzo have been pretty good with large amounts going in and out.

I decided not to do it via my main account (HSBC) because well, you know, HSBC…

Unfortunately, I could only move my Virgin Money savings through my Virgin Money current account.

Transaction still pending, although amount deducted from account balance.

Yup, I once did this with That Spanish Bank and well, the “shenanigans” that followed left me without access to any money for five days…

It’s amazing how vulnerable that makes you feel…

Good point, but Lloyds have been good today with the incoming (from Atom) and immediate outgoing.

Credit plugs the vulnerability, provided that you’re not under a wide-spread asset freeze. If it lasts long enough to get you in trouble with your credit card provider, I’d imagine they’d be quite forgiving as you’d by any definition be a vulnerable customer.

Yeah, Tesco I moved directly to Chase, no issues.

Virgin having a melt down.

Gonna end up shutting all VM down I think as never been impressed with their service or their app, yet I still came back for more :man_facepalming::joy:

Yes. I did just that recently. All a bit fraught over there. :flushed:

Virgin seem to have a £30k withdrawal limit across all accounts.

Chase seem to have a £25k limit.

Its a shame that the daily limits are so low compared to the likes of Tesco and Marcus.

Yeah in my case I didn’t (at the time) have any other way of getting money (no credit cards etc) - I was lucky enough to have my parents to “loan” me some money for the time I couldn’t access.

Strangely, I closed the account after that…

Chase is now chart position 13 in the iOS App Store up from 31 yesterday I believe. I wonder how long it’ll take to get to No1

My Tesco is £10k per day :person_shrugging:

You can do more by telephone

Wasn’t an issue really as only got 11000 in there and will move rest tomorrow

Don’t beat yourself up. There’s a few around here who’ve been a bit too hasty in closing an account (when parking it would have been wiser)….
