Chase UK Discussion

Just moved my savings from Marcus to Monzo to a new savings on my chase account. Thanks

Must admit that I almost did so myself but very glad that I didn’t now…

I went through the old “why was I so impatient thing?” with Starling back in the day. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yup, this was me with Starling. More first fintech (providing a current account) nerves combined with a less than stellar onboarding process than anything. I just went running straight back to where I felt comfortable and wanted nothing more to do with it.

My next date with a fintech went much better, and I’ve not been so hasty to back out of an account since. If I don’t have a use for them, they just go dormant.

Couldn’t find it in the charts and has 50k downloads on Android.

Not sure if you can see download numbers on Apple.

Interesting the 1.5% saver is available only to existing customers.

(Quite right too, that’s what I say :relieved:).

Probably temporary to manage volume

Where did you see that? The website says you can get it by downloading the app and applying for the current account.

Everybody’s an existing customer once they open an account. I only opened one today and I’ve got the 1.5% on savings.

Well played

I construed it from the email today, but upon reflection, it’s open to interpretation.

Ha! Me too.

Number 12 right now.

Is there anything to suggest this is only for a limited time like the other saving options

I read somewhere else today that it is possible to set up direct debits from this new savings account. As it’s not mentioned in their T&Cs and because I found the thought of this highly unusual in a savings account I reached out to their customer services. And yes - you can!

A neat idea. Well done, them. :relieved:

I presume you mean Starling and Monzo. Starlings customers are investors :+1:

I do - be interesting to see what happens next

Well my missus managed to transfer quite a sum from her Starling account into her new Chase savings account. The only issues she’s had, is the whole problem of Chase not being signed up to the Confirmation of Payee scheme, so trying to transfer £1k at a time just causes questions to be asked before the tranfer will happen. Fair play to Starling, they are just trying to protect her account.

I bet quite literally, millions were transferred to Chase yesterday. They must be quite happy with the result, that and a whole new load of accounts on their books.

This morning I transferred £1k from HSBC directly to my Chase savings account and it went through instantly, subject to a few warnings about lack of CoP, so fair play to HSBC, too.

Another useful feature that may, or may not, have been mentioned in this thread, is the ability to “hide account”.

As I have created numerous accounts and saving accounts, the list can be long, so I hide the ones I don’t need to see regularly.

Reorder remaining ones.

Hidden accounts can be seen with single tap at foot of the account list. :+1::blush:
