Yep, I like them. I’m drifting in their direction.

I’ve already drifted. As soon as they allow CASS I’ll be a totally adrift. R-

Totally agree with the drifted comments… hopefully Chase will add some extra benefits such as travel, gadget and mobile insurance in the future too.

Some may know here, but just say I’ve no knowledge of packaged US bank accounts. Is it a thing?

If not, I’d be content with competitive savings and merchant discounts. I think.

I’ll be back with Chase when they let me

I find their android app not very responsive at times. Delayed screen changes after taps.

Bit of a niggle.

I’m not sure that packaged accounts in the US are a thing, but they are here and Chase may decide to give it a go. I have travel insurance with Barclays and have used their tech pack in the past…

I’ve noticed this. Starling in comparison is very smooth.

For the time while they’re willing to offer their services at a loss I will concur, might move over some of my Starling things to Chase for the immediate future (besides maybe the NHS Prepayment because that’s a hassle)

Don’t see why any of us should accept the pittance rate that Starling put down so quickly (paired with that spaces really are a lot of faff vs an actual account)

Well I opened an account out of curiosity and it does the job but the Starling app is definitely better on Android at least.

I’ll use it as a glorified spending and savings account but I will not be switching from Starling. If the offers were going to continue it might be tempting out of convenience but I want to see what happens in a years time.

Die hard Starling’s will find it hard to agree that anything is better.
That wheel has been around for years and is a complete waste of space and the app needs a redesign and bills coming out of a space and not seeing that in all activity is useless too.

At least their notifications are top notch though.

I had expected Starling to have pushed on by now and introduced savings and credit card products. But after the poor launch of the personal loan product a few years ago I’m not sure they will now

Agreed and they also said they were going to launch in Europe etc - but that’s only so far been their banking as a business model - rather than the Bank. A lot of hot air!
Anne Boden needs to spend less time telling her story and getting on with improving Starling.
I’ve tried time after time to use the Starling app but it’s just so annoying and I definitely feel more of a connection to the Chase branding and colours than Starling.

When I switched from Santander to Starling there was a massive difference. That just isn’t there with Chase so doesn’t feel worth it. Once the introductory offers are gone I can easily just use it as a savings account without switching.

Yes I would have thought you would have found the difference between Santander and Starling staggering.
Santander is useless in comparison and if you’ve been using Starling the benefits of Chase are not so evident - except for the better app, 1.5% internet rate, and branding for example.

I have hopes that Starling will have a rebrand soon, their purple, green and blue branding is a mess!

However, people do keep voting for them in the banking awards - not sure what that’s about.
Maybe when Chase launch new products, CASS etc there could be a turn around :grinning:

It would be nice if just one of these apps allowed you to set a start date on spending for the month, the spend tracking is completely useless for those of us that get paid mid month.

This surprises me too. I have always found the overall proposition good but not miles apart from similar offerings.

The UI could do with a refresh at some point and some better saving options would be nice

Not used it but the option exists in the HSBC app

I absolutely agree. I do like the Starling experience, but it is now just a bit, well, boring. I mean the app is great, it works and it does everything I want it to. Trouble is, since Chase hit the scene, Chase is now my everyday personal spend account and my Starling account is just sitting there on the back burner with just a couple of direct debits coming out every month.
