Starling - general thread

Honestly surprised they get away with charging for those features when the majority customer base is the least wealthy generation on record

Plus is a shoddy offering - I’ve no idea why anyone would pay for UI. The Virtual card offering on Revolut has always been better & free.

Is there a daily limit for withdrawal? I think someone mentioned this in the thread but maybe there were some changes. And do they charge for a virtual card now?

£300.

Here’s the link to the bank’s FAQ’s.

No, but you can only use virtual cards from a Space, not your main account balance.

RBS + Starling combination? FreeAgent for free haha

I would find this quite useful as a personal customer. Maybe :soon: ?

Received this today - my card expires 11/25. I’ve asked for clarification.

I’ve just had this message as well and I use my card online every week for our Tesco shop unless it’s to do with moving onto their own card processing platform

Me too but I wonder if it’s to do with the ‘connected card’ the one they launched at the beginning of the pandemic!

Hmm. I’ve just checked my app and that very connected card has been removed from my list.

Anyway - not just me then. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Just checked my connected card is still there that I got during covid

Very bizarre. Hopefully connected accounts will come to personal accounts then we getting features you have to pay with at Monzo.

Full marks to @Cmundo1972. It is indeed that.

CS came straight back after my enquiry and confirmed it’s that connected card. :relieved:

I haven’t had that message, but they did message me the other day to tell me they’re replacing my card (again). It’s got about 18 months left to run on it but they’re sending me a new one - don’t know what back end changes requires me to have an updated card

There was an article about them slowly moving people onto the card processing platform they have built

I’ve had the same so just used my card at Costa. Perhaps it’s the Connected Card I need to use

I queried the same message this morning. It was my connected card.

Just tried to use connected card in store.
Declined, although PIN accepted.

Notification claims card locked in app.

Card controls suggest otherwise :man_shrugging:

Contacted Starling CS on live chat.

Card unblocked within 5 minutes :+1:

(Not sure why it was blocked to start with tbf)
